Their encounters? Those were very close fights which can go either way. Even though MAB got the better end of their fights he didn't dominated Eric in all those occasions.

I like both fighters but I'm leaning on Morales for the simple fact that Morales never ducks anybody. MAB? Let him EXPLAIN why he wouldn't want a rematch against the guy who humilated him in the ring.

It seems silly to make a deal about 4 or 9 lbs. but I would say that Barrera is clearly the better featherweight, Morales is rangier and can do ok at lightweight/jr lightweight, I wouldn't expect Barrera to be able to look so good up there. Barrera has the better skills and boxing smarts, but Morales has most of the physical advantages being taller and broader. I'm not saying Morales has no boxing skill or ring smarts, but his are inferior to Barrera's. They are both miles above your average boxing 'star'.

i give the edge to morales yes mab beat him twice but el terible also has a win over mab all 3 of their fights could of gone either way ...when they go head to head its just about who has a better night so i won't take their trilogy into account ...mab got beat twice junior jones who erik beat in 4rnds. mab also got destroyed by pac who el terible also beat ...i also feel erik has fought and beat better opposition...Wayne McCullough,Kevin Kelley,In Jin Chi,
Paulie Ayala,Jesus Chavez,Carlos Hernandez......i know mab also beat ayala and kelley but he fought them years after el terible and when they were out of their primes ...also erik has not ducked anyone until mab fights pac i can't say the same for him ...both are great fighter but i give the nod to el terible..

Erik Morales. I've been over this so many times but it never gets old.

-Morales was 36-0 as a 122 pounder and is top 3 to ever fight at that weight. He beat Barrera, Jones, Zaragoza, Molina and McCullough at that weight...defending his belt 9 times against damned good fighters while pretty much cleaning out the division.

-Morales moved up to 126 and beat fighters such as Kelley, Chi, Ayala and Espadas. In the rematch with BArrera, most ring side observers, experts, and fans with two working eyes thought that Morales won. 126 pound WBC title was his second world title in a weight class.

-Morales then moved up to 130 where he fought a HELLACIOUS 5 fight schedule, beating the likes of Pacquiao, Chavez, Hernandez, Espadas, losing to Barrera in another close but epic fight. 130 saw him win his 3rd world title in a given weight class...joining the great Julio Cesar Chavez in that capacity.

-Barrera has been dominated and KNOCKED OUT on more than one occasion (Jones, Pacquiao) Morales (though he was for the most part dominated by Raheem) has never been knocked out.

-Morales is a very versatile boxer who has one of the best chins the sport has EVER seen. He has never been legitimately knocked down.

-Morales only fights the hardest fights and never strays away from a challenge. You won't see Erik taking on any Mzonke Fanas. He fights for the fans and has one of the biggest hearts the sport has seen in awhile. He's a certified crowd pleaser.

-In the h2h matchup Barrera has the advantage on paper, sure. But in my eyes and the eyes of many other...that second fight was a shady decision.

-Morales still has a great shot at becoming the only Mexican born champion in 4 weight classes and I believe that he will do it before Barrera...probably by beating Jesus Chavez in a rematch.
