“I thought he (Donaire) was good. I don’t know what everybody is complaining about.”

here is what everyones complaining about..........

donaire leaves a bitter taste with people..........people are really starting to not like him. YES he took on a good opponent in nishioka but judging by how lost nishioka looked it's clear that it was more about matchmaking vs anything...........niahioka was nothing of what was being glorified by donaires team (& plus he's older)

people feel like their being tricked after donaire fights (& this is a horrible feeling for fans)

it feels like we're watching a fighter with top notch match making vs A potential ATG (what their trying to sell to us) this is why so many people have lost it & no longer want to hear any BS from team donaire............A arce fight will just throw salt in the cut.

this is exactly why Donaire will continue to duck Rigondeaux. Arum knows it. HBO is grooming him to be the next pinoy superstar so of course they'll buy any Arce type mismatch TR and Dunkin put at them.

and before the nut huggers say anything

didn't Donaire say I want to unify the belts at 122?

and wasn't his excuse is "I'll get bored"

I used to think Donaire was for real but this is some serious ducking

love him or hate him, a young Pacquiao would have fought him

Who is he not facing? Mares? He can't cause Mares is with Golden Boy. Rigo? So what? Rigo has no fan base that brings anything to the table except to the most hardcore of fans.

Donaire-Arce is a fan friendly fight that also makes him a lot of money. It makes perfect sense for both him and boxing fans.
As fans of boxing, why does it matter to us if a fighter doesn't fight another fighter because he doesn't bring anything to the table (although he has the WBA title). Our concern shouldn't be whether a fighter fights the most popular guy. Our concern should be a champion fighting other capable fighters that are REAL threats.

All this Rigo doesn't bring anything to the table is a bunch of malarkey.

Anyone that thinks Arce has any chance of beating Donaire is INSANE.

Fight the winner of Mares/Moreno or RIGONDEAUX and then move up if he wins. Pacquiao became famous by crushing threats. Not over-the-hill has beens.

It's not the best match in the world, but it has the making of KO of the year written all over it. I think Donaire deserves to fight a guy who will actually fight back.

Donaire will have fought four times this year. It's one thing if he had fought these guys in a span of 2 years and wasted so much time, but he's staying busy and fought these guys in a single year. Most top fighters only fight twice a year. And if we're lucky, usually only one those opponents are good while the other is a tuneup. Meanwhile Donaire has fought 4 top 10 guys including the #1 guy in a one year time span. I don't understand the complaining.

didn't arce quit in his last fight? guess that's good enough to land a shot at donaire but rigo can't even though he's #2 in the division. weird.

This didn't cross my mind tbh. The match-up is fine when put into that perspective, but on its own merit, the fight is a clear mismatch.
