    Why do ppl hold pads like that . I feel like they both practice this routine . Show ?

      I think the main goal is to rapidly switch from offense to defense.

        There was a video of Peter Quillin doing the mitts yesterday. It was all offense, he didn't work on his defense at all. Might as well use the heavy bag if you're going to do that.

        That's the benefit I see to the Mayweather style padwork. It gets the fighters used to both defending and countering.

            Yep. Cus always emphasized moving your head, and he made sure Tyson practiced that just as much as his killer combinations.
