Its all in Rigondeux's hands. He beats a couple of names and everyone will clamour for a Donaire showdown. Maybe even in two fight's time.

I don't see why Donaire would be frightened of anyone at 122.

The Difference is, Ward actually fought the very BEST OF THE BEST in his DIVISION, Donaire did not clean out 118, did not even try to, he did not fight Agbeko or Yohnny Perez or Mareno or Mares, he beat Montiel and RAN

He beat #1 rated Montiel less than 2 years ago. That's more recent than Rigo's best win, or Sergio's last notable win. Plus 2 decent wins, couldn't fight the guys in the tournament which dragged long. Moreno offered a fight, passed. Next up 3 top 10 wins/3 belts in his 4th division, in 9 months. What will it take to please you, a drab 12ud over a scared 11 fight champ?

I actually like Donaire and think he's a very good fighter, but sorry, I can't even lie to myself and say that he is a GREAT fighter (not yet anyway).

I always ask the question: 'who has he beat?'...

Donaire's last four fights have been against fighters who I rate as being very good, but not and never were great...listening to HBO and everybody else hype up Nishioka made me sick, as I asked myself the same question again about Nishioka 'who has he beat?'.... Nishioka to me was like a top 5 fighter in the division, not the kingpin...please!!

Montiel was a very good win, all Donaire would have needed was another two or so of similar wins and then I'd consider him great...

to be considered great, Donaire needs to fight proper proven champs who are in the same position as him, young , hungry and unblemished...not so called 'champs' with multiple losses and or wins over unknown champs..

In this division, wins by Donaire over Abner Mares and Rigo would make him a great top 5 P4P fighter.

He has wins over 2 Ring top 10 p4pers. Neither Ward nor Martinez have that. Granted, Vic was long ago, but in between it's all been champs, beaten dominant in 4 divisions.
