Agreed. The only guys that usually have trouble with the transition are guys that have no punch at all.

You only remember the olympic medalists who made it, you don't remember those who didn't do **** in the pros. The majority of the fighters in the top 10 P4P didn't win olympic medals.

I don't know how much Rigo is asking for but I know he's got like 12 dudes taking their cut from his paychecks so he's probably asking for a lot. The guys you mentioned fought for a small amount.

When did I say I didn't want this fight? I'm a fan of both guys but I understand how this business works, I'm not blinded by nationalism like you. Why would Donaire fight Rigo for peanuts and get little credit if he wins? Rigo fights at the bottom of undercards, let him raise his profile to give Donaire an incentive to fight him. He's not in the position to demand a fight against a top P4P guy. The same people who are complaining that Canelo hasn't earned a Floyd or Cotto fight, are now saying Donaire HAS to fight Rigo or he's a duck. You guys must be suffering from schizophrenia.
He will get credit from everyone, except you, and he has fought twice on Manny's PPV cards just before the main event, he headlined his fight against Casey and Ramos, there's no blinding because I want him to fight the best unlike other fans that want their boxer fighting old men/bums/under-weight/other, hiding behind promoters/alphabet/org, giving excuses left and right, just it is a business but if he wants his product to sell he needs a little be of quality unless you like no frill...

I MEAN SERIOUSLY WHO DO THESE OLYMPIANS THINK THEY ARE? JUST WALTZING INTO THE PROS AND BECOMING CHAMPIONS!
To play counter point to that statement though. You listed the guys who became greats... well... most of those guys are great. You can make a much longer list of medalists from the olympics who turned out to be mediocre or worse as well. It's two sides of a coin and using either in a debate isn't going to get far.

It's not known yet if Rigo will be a good pro, because he hasn't done anything yet of note. He looks talented but, he's already old and has no draw to him. It's going to take a lot of effort on his and TRs part to make him a star with so much against him.

That being said... this fight as long as its a stay busy/tune-up... who cares?

              Yes, like him.

I forgot to include guys like Michael Spinks and Antonio Tarver as well.

Arce what??? Donaire must be on the mid thirty's midget circuit right now. Donaire needs to move up to 126 or 130 and fight some younger tougher bigger guys because he's dwarfing most of his recent opponents that have one foot out the door already.

but money talks and Arum is probably going to pressure the kid to fight his guy

I seriously doubt that. He's talented but has no fans backing him. And no one wants to fight him.

He just signed an extension with TR, leaving them would hurt his bank account.
