He just fought the #1 super bantamweight, if that's handpicking I wanna see more fighters handpick their opponents.

Amateur pedigree don't mean ***** in the pros. That "excitement" talk was just BS, the real reason is of course $$$. Oh and I can't blame Donaire for wanting to fight a guy who's willing to engage the whole fight. He's been booed in his last 4 fights now, and it wasn't his fault. Let him have an exciting performance against a come-forward guy ala Montiel while Rigo fights Agbeko or Darchinyan and raises his profile. Then maybe we'll get our fight.
Because Andre Ward, Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya, Kosty Tszyu, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Sugar Ray Leonard, Evander Holyfield, Pernell Whitaker, Fernando Vargas, Roy Jones, and many more made SUCH TERRIBLE PROS!!!! I MEAN SERIOUSLY WHO DO THESE OLYMPIANS THINK THEY ARE? JUST WALTZING INTO THE PROS AND BECOMING CHAMPIONS!

BS, Donaire fought an old, past his prime fighter that had not fought in almost two year and contemplating retirement, to me and to any real fan that is not the #1 in the division, specially when you have Mares, Moreno and Rigondeaux, you can spin it all you want but the fact of the matter is that he had use all the excuses available and then some, are you going to tell me that he made more money with Mathebula, Narvaez, Vazquez or Nishioka, common he will make twice as much fighting Rigondeaux and for those that say amateur doesn't count, specially when it served their agenda, but in any case is there and other fighters had jump from 0 pro fight to disputed a Belt, back when it was only one, why a fan will not want a fight between two skilled fighters is beyond me, playing promoter or excusing their fighter shouldn't be our job, as a GR fan I'll love to see him against the best even if he lose, every Cuban we have right now wants to fight the best fighters out there, and everyone of them is been ducked, and they are a few that are coming up like Barthelemy, Socarras, Franco, Salinas, Ortiz, Gonzalez, Santana etc...

Donaire would batter and bludgeon Arce, EASY WORK. I can't see Arce being able to handle the physical attributes nor the style of Nonito. You guys want to see someone's career get finished in one night? This could be that match-up.

IMO, there are different forms of cherry-picking. I wouldn't say Donaire/Nishioka falls into that category, but it was a calculated move. It made sense on the surface. However, Nishi being older/inactive/coming off an ok performance against a over-the-hill Marquez takes away from the match-up's quality. Ignoring the intangibles and the human element of boxing, this was viewed as a competitive fight. Donaire came in, handled his business and got the victory with a stoppage. The fight doesn't hold much personal value to me, but it's a solid win nonetheless and adds more weight to his P4P status.

Before the fight, I stated that I would expect Mares/Moreno/Rigo to give a tougher fight to Donaire than Nishioka. Well, those 3 guys can't do much worse than Nishi.

David Reid, Mark Breland, Frank Tate, Tyrell Biggs, Henry tillman, Kennedy McKinney, Vassiliy Jirov, Audley Harrison.

You only remember the olympic medalists who made it, you don't remember those who didn't do **** in the pros. The majority of the fighters in the top 10 P4P didn't win olympic medals.

I don't know how much Rigo is asking for but I know he's got like 12 dudes taking their cut from his paychecks so he's probably asking for a lot. The guys you mentioned fought for a small amount.

When did I say I didn't want this fight? I'm a fan of both guys but I understand how this business works, I'm not blinded by nationalism like you. Why would Donaire fight Rigo for peanuts and get little credit if he wins? Rigo fights at the bottom of undercards, let him raise his profile to give Donaire an incentive to fight him. He's not in the position to demand a fight against a top P4P guy. The same people who are complaining that Canelo hasn't earned a Floyd or Cotto fight, are now saying Donaire HAS to fight Rigo or he's a duck. You guys must be suffering from schizophrenia.

With the exception of Harrison, they all had decent career. Jirov was THE man at his weight. Not sure why you included him on that list? He had a very good career.

David Reid, Mark Breland, Frank Tate, Tyrell Biggs, Henry tillman, Kennedy McKinney, Vassiliy Jirov, I guess 7 out of 8 is not good enough, every one of these fighters had good careers, some didn't pan out as HOF kind of fighters still, they made it, there's more great amateurs that make it in the professional rank than not, probably for every one that didn't make it I could mention two that did...
