It's a mandatory and he's getting it out of the way quickly.

There's no way a Fury fight would happen in 8 weeks time because it needs negotiating and promoting. The Skelton fight has no effect on this, except keeping the British belt in the mix.

So much hating for what? Fury was the one obviously ducking Price. 8 weeks to fight a mandatory, no way a Fury Price fight could be organised that quickly so why shouldnt he fight in the mean time. He's only had 14 fights...maybe everyone's desperate for a great fighter to ****e up the division but give him a chance to develop. Hopefully the big fights will come in 2013.

Sorry but this is still a dog **** fight. Zero progression, at a time when Price should be learning and gradually stepping up the level of competition.

          THIS ^^^^^

It's good to see Price staying active and fighting again this year. He's had very few rounds the past couple of years, because he's knocking his opponents out early and hadn't been fighting as often as I'd like to see. Skelton is actually better than Audrey, and he likely won't be KOed in round one.

In 2013, I'm confident they'll step Price up to a better level of competition.

Why put Price in with Audley and Slelton if he needs rounds ? Skelton will be blown away in 2-3 tops,I openly said Audley would be gone in one and there was no sense whatsoever in Price fighting him except to have him on his record and enhance his profile,in fairness the States will have heard of the fight last night,so why carry on feasting on yet more stiffs he has the exposure now he joule be taking advantage,Skelton isn't a step forward, though I'm not saying it's a step back,Audley is a shocking boxer he's never been anyone or anything in 12 years, the standard is Olympic boxing is shockingly poor and means nothing when they turn pro, take Solis for example an obese ****** who only boxes as he doesn't know how to do anything else,a sport he claims he dislikes,I can't wait for Adamek to drop his fat ass.

Every up and coming fighter who has a punch needs a guy who can take his shots and keep coming for a few rounds, I think Skelton is a guy who can do that, Skelton's punch resistance is much better than Harrison's.

I honestly don't get the hate for this fight, it's not that big a step forward for Price but he needs something like this to be able to make that step forward.

he doesn't have much experience & he has now beaten harrison, mcdermott, sexton & skelton is next. he's cleaning out the domestic fighters first. haye, chisora & fury have all past the domestic stage of their careers & price will be joining them soon. i'm okay with a skelton fight. he is being brought along slowly. maloney knows what he is doing & after his success with lennox lewis i'm not going to question him. fans are just too impatient.

I'm coming across the wrong way here,I'm not hating I'm just frustrated in the way Price is being brought along,Skelton should have been last instead of Harrison, fighting McDermott and Harrison have been wasted exercises, they do nothing to honing his skills to becoming a better more accomplished fighter,he should have laid waste to Skelton already and now possibly moving towards Chisora, not the greatest opponent, but when were talking about durable,Chisoa is that,ok he was back to his lazy self again against Haye, but had he have trained for the Haye fight and approached it with professionalism like he did against VK and Robert Helenius he could have dropped Haye,he had Haye hurt in that fight, why he came in weighing more against haye than he did against VK is anyone's guess,I guess it's another case like SpongeBob Solis with him,but if Price fought him instead of people like Harrison he'd be learning so much more,my only guess is Maloney is bringing him along slowly intentionally to avoid certain clashes in the EBU and world stage.
Fury is another story altogether he's an accident waiting to happen that lad,he'll be dropped by anyone who can move and pop,Chagaev hasn't the shape or speed,Mitchll and Jennings are punchers,Fury will do well to avoid these guys until after he's been dropped by Price.
