Maybe it was the real deal, but I don't know. The film certainly isn't very clear as to what happened, though, which could put some doubts to the legitimacy of it.

And Johnson's back never touched the canvas during that knockdown, as he went down on his butt with his left arm behind him for balance. He looked to have tried rising right quickly by only pushing himself with his left hand, then after losing balance with the single arm, quickly put his right hand down and swung around to all fours. There was a short pause when Johnson looked down while on all fours, but other than that very brief moment, Johnson did not look too hurt at all from the punch.

It was only but a few short seconds later when Ketchel was stretched out cold by Johnson!

Well, Tyson never once defended against a white Heavyweight, so does that prove Tyson "was not willing to face anybody" or "had no guts"?

For one, Tyson could've defended against Francisco Damiani, who was ranked well inside the top five during the last year or two of Tyson's initial reign as champion, so...Can I say that the racist Tyson was afraid of Damiani and was scared to lose his title to a white Heavyweight? If not, then why not, if you can say those things about Dempsey not fighting Harry Wills (the only real viable black heavyweight deserving of a shot at Dempsey's title...Langford, McVey, and Jeannette were all on their very last legs, whereas Kid Norfolk was elimintaed from the title picture by suffering a brutal knockout at the hands of Wills ), who Dempsey actually signed to meet?

              Tyson never declared that
              he does not fight whites.
              Dempsey made it a point
              that he dont fight blacks.
              Watch that documentary about
              Jack Johnson it tells right
              there that Dempsey declared
he wont fight blacks. He refused
to give a black man a shot. The
              racist. **** makes me sick.

He may have made those comments earlier in his title reign, but once the boxing public pushed for a Dempsey/Wills title fight (a fight that was frowned upon during Dempsey's first couple of years on top), Jack seems to have changed his mind/opinion about defending against black fighters...

In 1922 Dempsey declared in the newspapers that he's "hoping some promoter can come up with the right guarantee for a match between Harry Wills and (himself)."

A couple of years later Dempsey also made the statement to the press that he "will fight Harry Wills for any promoter who can induce Paddy Mullins to sign a fair contract for a match."

Are you going to ignore those statements made by Dempsey, which are in conflict with your "he won't fight blacks" and "refused to give a black man a shot" declarations? Or are you going to ignore the fact that Dempsey actually signed to meet Wills in both 1924 & 1925 (I presented a photo of the signing earlier in the thread)?
