This was kind of tough, but I ended up going with Golovkin. I personally consider Alvarez a prospect, even though he has a belt, and yes I am aware that if you want to call yourself a champion, blah blah blah...
But some of the things that were said about Golovkin after the Proksa fight were just silly. I thought people were trolling....pretty much by the NEXT DAY, there was a thread for every Golovkin fantasy fight, people were saying he could clean out 154-168.
What about Proksa made people think that because of the way Golovkin disposed of him that he was boxing's savior? Proksa was on a good run of stoppage wins, yes, albeit against nobodies and a shot "never-was" in Sylvester. I was very impressed by the fight, but will reserve my judgement on the guy until the proper time.
Alvarez and Broner, at least for the most part, seem to be thought of for what they might turn out to be, as opposed to what the ARE; unlike Golovkin, which is why I picked him.
