Comments Thread For: Roach: Bradley Sells No Tickets, No Money in a Rematch

Trainer Freddie Roach would have preferred a different path for eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38KOs). On December 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Pacquiao will face WBO junior welterweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39KOs) for a fourth time. HBO pay-per-view will carry the event.

If there is no money in it then why did they fight him the first time? There was a compelling reason to face Bradley before but there isn't one now?

If 90% of the world saw him win, guy can't sell tickets the first time, what makes you think the rematch will generate more money after such a blatant robbery?

What business sense does jmm vs pac iv or pac vs bradley ii generate? jmm vs pac is an obvious choice even though we don't necessarily like it. A KO would be almost necessary in this fight though. Either one way or another it ends.

He fought him the first time because Bradley was considered the undefeated young hungry lion. People were complaining about Pac fighting past there prime and weight drained fighters so Manny chose the young undefeated guy.

And no there is no reason to fight Bradley now. Manny clearly won the fight and the PPV numbers shows that Bradley cant sell PPV or tickets. Tim should rack up a couple of wins so people forget about his gift decision victory then come back and try and get the rematch for Pac.

For the next poster asking why we as fans should care how much a fighter sells....

                    OK?
