    Clip: Down goes James Toney

    A rarity indeed.

Here's Reggie Johnson dropping JT in one of the only two times he's been down. The kd came early in the 2nd round. Toney got up and didn't seem the least bit hurt. He went on to win a SD over a very game Johnson in a close and competitive fight.

He's never been hurt in his career. If he's ever going to be hurt, it's gonna come against Rahman. If Toney beats the Rock, the division is his for the taking.

He could easily be bird and Valuev... Brewster I don't know. Brewster's got a **** ton of power and could easily give Toney a couple of clean shots. However, I have questions of Brewster's stamina against an opponent like Toney. I'd love to see that fight though.

It didn't even look like that punch even landed! I think Toney was off balance cause that punch hit him in the shoulder.

On paper Brewster seems like one of the stiffest tests for Toney...

But when you think about the mental problems Lamon had getting up for Meehan (who was a friend of his), I have trouble believing he'll get up to fight Toney.

He's already gone on record as saying

"I'd cry like a baby if I ever had to fight James Toney, how do you fight your hero?"

"I heard Toney called me a a bum, but that's just him being real and I know I have room to improve"

          etc.

He grew up sparring with JT and aparetnly was owned on a regular basis.

I think JT has the edge to begin with, but when you add in Brewster's feelings for Toney, I think it puts him farther behind the 8 ball.

IMO Wlad is the only fighter at Heavyweight that is a bad match up for James, and strictly because of the tremendous advantage in size with the speed and power he has. Couple that with Toney not being a guy with enough 1 punch KO power to crack the glass, and that's really the only tough fight I see out there for him.

It landed on the chin, there was no replay angle, but watching it in full motion there's no confusion about where it landed. It caught him.

Yeah cause that angle it you don't see Toney's head jolt at all. But yeah I think with all Brewster has said about Toney, coupled with Toney's elusiveness, Brewster won't have much chance against Toney. Toney seems to have an iron chin and nobody seems to catch him clean. I want to see a heavyweight just stay as far on the outside as they can get and see how Toney does. Getting anywhere close to Toney is fighting his fight and whoever Toney is fighting will lose! That's why Wlad should have a good chance because he will stay outside. I couldn't believe the gameplan of Guinn when he just stayed on the inside with Toney! Even Toney said after the fight, "I love that."

similar thing with the Jones knock down. Roy hit him with a left hook as Toney was backing up, but it wasn't until Roy pushed on Toney that he stumbled back into the corner. Toney's got the best chin in the sport

Yea, that Jones kd was a balance thing for sure.

** Yeah, Toney went down and slid on his buttocks for a couple of feet. He never gave Johnson the rematch he wanted either. It's really funny that Toney has gained an extra 50% of his bodyweight, 75-80 lbs, and he and his fans deny he used steroids.

If Big Mac or Barry gained 50% of their body weight they would've been 330 and 275 lbs respectively and the purists would've all died of heart attacks as they screamed themselves cold!
