Like Daggum said, Floyd came over the initially contracted weight.

Secondly, Marquez was training and thinking that he would have a Floyd that would be coming in 144 or less.

Third and most importantly, you need to compound those 2lbs that you mentioned (Floyd came over) with Marquez was just getting used to 135 when Floyd called him up to fight him at WW. Big big difference!

Manny fought Marquez twice at Marquez's weight. Third time, Marquez took what he did from his previous attempt at 146 and adjusted for a fight at 144lbs against Manny.

Marquez actually looked bigger than Manny. Against Floyd, Floyd looked bigger while Marquez looked flabby and smaller. The bigger Floyd gave him the advantage over the smaller Marquez.

Last point is styles makes fights. Foreman beat Frazier and Norton easily but they gave Ali fits every time they fought. Ali beat Foreman.

Yes. Ask JMM himself. Marquez had been saying that had he been well-prepared and did the exact same preparation as he did and is doing now in the Pac 3 and 4 fights respectively, his fight with Floyd would have been different and far more competitive. Remember, he didn't have the same conditioning coach back then.

So JMM gives Floyd big trouble at 147 now , lol , Floyd would embarrass him again , truth is he aint in Floyds class at any weight , ever , you talk about 135 lol , at that weight Floyd KOs JMM ala Gatti .

You idiots go on about Floyds 2 pounds bringing JMM UP and then gloss over how Manny brings them DOWN , its so obvious to anybody that knows boxing that you kids know NOTHING about weight and a fighter , you lot are nothing more than hype merchants .

Although it's inconceivable to see a Floyd/JMM 2, I believe a rematch would show a well conditioned JMM at 147 and fight a different gameplan. Remember, he fought like a careless clown in the first fight. He was unusually too impatient and aggressive. (Can't really blame him for trying to please the crowd because otherwise nothing will happen.) He made the mistake of letting Floyd do all the countering.

i am a floyd fan and I don't choose floyd's fights before he does but, for a fighter who makes over 10 mil every fight when others are dying to scratch 100k, why does he have to trip? I understand we as the viewing public do want to see him more often. But as a man who was the highest paid athlete in the world last year, why does he have to fight who you want him to fight? You have proven that no matter when or who he fights you will watch, so why try to conform to your wishes? I understand this may make u not tune into his next fight, but looking at his ppv history, I doubt it. He is in the ultimate captain's seat and will fight whoever he wants, whenever he wants, and will make over ten mil bc we are hooked. The sooner we admit this (and either try to fix the broken boxing system or STFU) the sooner we will be at peace.

guerrero fits with ortiz perfectly. both guys who haven't done much but still have a lot of hype. ortiz recently had a ko loss and draw on his record but everyone forgot about that when he fought floyd and he turned into a YOUNG LION! just like guerrero will turn into a YOUNG TIGER! if floyd fights him.
