His talent was great for sure, but that damn chin was bad. I know he beat up a blown up shot Meldrick Taylor,Mugabi post Hagler,Blocker and others. Almost forgot the beating he put on SRL. Those were all victories over shells of there former selves.

The ones I keep remembering are Julian Jackson and Simon Brown. Refresh my memory on some of those opponents. I'm not saying he wasn't a damn good fighter, just seems Hall of Fame doesn't fit with his name. I could be wrong and it wouldn't be the first time
He beat Brown in the Return. Also beat Vincent Pettaway who later KO'd Brown. He beat Donald Curry, Jorge Castro, Quincy Taylor, Maurice Blocker was NOT shot at all. You must be thinking of the Blocker that Tito KO'd. ****, Blocker had just won a title when Norris beat him. Same is true for Mugabi. Mugabi HELD the WBC 154 lb title when Norris beat him. Mugabi KO'd the guy who had that title in 1 round.

your correct on Blocker, I didn't mean to catogorize him with the others. Curry was definitely shot as was Mugabi. I think Mugabi beat Rene Jaquot for the Title. Mugabi was pitiful v Norris and basically gave up..like he did in most of his fights after Hagler. Duane Thomas beat the crap out of The Beast as well. Beating Castro and Rettaway doesn't exactly excite me.

I will say Norris had tremendous talent and I'm happy for my So.Cal Homey but I'm still not convinced.

The legendary boxing promoter Lope "Papa" Sarreal, the grand-old man of Philippine boxing who was a promoter responsible for at least 20 world boxing champions including the Great Gabriel "Flash" Elorde, and the Thai Galaxy brothers Khaosai and Khaokor will be posthumously inducted into the IBHOF in Canastota. He died at the age of 90 in 1995.

He is just the 3rd Filipino to be inducted there, after Flash Elorde and Pancho Villa . MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS!

that's one thing wrong with this hall of fame, they don't recognize greats from ASIA, how many Asian Fighters are in the IBHOF, last count it was four and I am not a boxing history buff but i bet there are more than 4 GREAT ASIAN FIGHTERS ...

I love Barry, and I suppose that it's fair to induct him based on his win over Pedroza, but I'm not entirely convinced that he belongs there.

Wow this thread is almost done it's second page and still no words for Bobby Chacon? I suppose his credentials are worthy of scrutiny as well. No doubt he was one of the most exciting fighters in his day, but he's got some big losses and was nowhere near a complete enough fighter to be considered an automatic HOFer. He was in some of the best action fights of the 70's though, and I guess that is enough.
