There's no way Gatti should get in. Plain and simple he wasn't one of the greatest. If he gets in so does Emanuel Augustus, Mickey Ward, Jose Luis Castillo etc. HOF should be reserved for the elite that dominated the sport.Comment

If Balboa can get in then Gatti should and Prince Naz defo should regardless IMO - he was a great fighter talent wise and really brought money and attention to the small weightclasses.
Maybe they should divide the hall in terms of impact and actual greatness? I don't know - it seems like every famous fighter will be in the HOFComment

I don't know dethroning Apollo Creed, beating Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, and Antonio Tarver is a pretty good resume. Balboa deserves to be in. Joe Cortez on the other hand??If Balboa can get in then Gatti should and Prince Naz defo should regardless IMO - he was a great fighter talent wise and really brought money and attention to the small weightclasses.

Stallone didn't get in as a fighter. He got in as a non-participant, a separate category for people like Cosell etc. Considering the impact of Rocky on the game in the 70s and 80s, it was perfectly fair. It's not comparing apples and apples at all.If Balboa can get in then Gatti should and Prince Naz defo should regardless IMO - he was a great fighter talent wise and really brought money and attention to the small weightclasses.

Gatti, Augustus, and Ward should NEVER be mentioned along with Castillo, that's just wrong.
Castillo was the best LW of his era. Beat Johnston, Bazan, J. Diaz, Casamayor, Lazcano, Corrales, and should arguably have a win over Floyd.
Castillo and Corrales' careers > Gatti's career
I'd put Hatton and Genaro in before Gatti.Comment

I put in my vote yesterday and did not opt for Gatti. Maybe someday, but not now. He's not one of the ten best fighters on the ballot, and it's a ten max. Lot of guys waiting for their turn for years who did a lot in this sport to overlook the flaws in Gatti's game. I understand/respect the argument for Gatti, more so now than I did when he first retired, but can't agree with it right now.Gatti, Augustus, and Ward should NEVER be mentioned along with Castillo, that's just wrong.
