I'm not ****phobic or nothing, but would he have made an announcement about being straight? That's his own business. Sergio Martinez does the "it gets better" charity stuff for LGBT kids and it is pretty obvious he wouldn't do it if he wasn't himself gay, but still he doesn't make it define who he is as a fighter or person. Whoever you go to bed with is your business. Just let me watch boxing, thanks.

I agree with your point. Although, he could just want to encourage others that it's okay to be gay, which again, I agree, even then, shouldn't be made into an announcement...unless he wants to capture some gay support since many media outlets will present this news.

And, Sergio Martinez isn't gay. I think he's just private about his relationship. If he were, however, it shouldn't be an issue....and he, too, would probably make an announcement of it.

I would never have thought that a Puerto Rican (or Mexican) would have been the first to come out (during their career).

Good luck to him. His sexuality has nothing to do with me but if he can inspire young kids (whether gay or straight) to have the courage to face up to adversity then good for him.

I will remain as indifferent to his career as I previously was. I wish him the best in life.
