To be honest, he should have just fought him 175 in the first place.
    Most definitely.

Ward even refused to fight Dawson at 170.

      That's what I don't like.

I was ok with the fight as long as Dawson made the weight comfortably but he clearly wasn't healthy at the weight.

      A rematch at 175 is a must.

Its a waste of Ward's prime to just beat up on Dawson again. Same outcome as the first, maybe just takes a little longer. Ward needs to move on and Dawson needs to refocus.

I agree. That should be Dawson's next move.

I don't think it would make much difference. I'm not a Ward fan but Dawson just isn't as good a fighter as Ward. I haven't heard a word from Dawson since the fight. He's not complaining about the weight, which he agreed on. I was rooting for Dawson but it was pretty clear who was the better fighter. Even if Dawson blames it on weight, he still got completely outclassed and suffered a mental beat down. I don't think Dawson has the mental strength to overcome that loss with a 7 pound advantage.

If Dawson gets some victories against good opponents, why not? But not in the near future.

I read Ward is going to fight his mandatory early in 2013 (which will be the winner of Adonis Stevenson vs. Don George).

Dawson should have a warm-up around that time and then challenge Andre Ward to fight for the Ring belt at 175.

By "not in the near future" I meant not before a year or so. Dawson is gonna have to beat one real good fighter or several solid fighters (and look impressive doing so) to convince me that 7 lbs will turn a one-sided beatdown into a competitive fight.
