I just wanted to ask where people rate JCC as an ATG? What's his best win etc...?
I think the guy is ******ly overrated and should have had losses to both Taylor and Whitaker. His record is padded with bums. Etc... But I want to know what you guys think.
(Dont know why I wrote JLC... I meant JCC. Sorry!)

Isn't that all people do around here. They stick to a group of people they share opinions with? I mean that's pretty common in a forum is it not? Top it off I express my opinions and if they don't like it oh well.Lol sure I'm sure you totally it ignored his race considering we're talking about a Mexican vs a black guy, when you google "man crying" its Mostly white guys until you scroll down. I'm sure you leaving me Red K saying "Dumb Chimp" had no racist meaning either lol.
Keep brown nosing people's opinions you agree with, it's all you do lol.
Richard Steele did a great job in the fight. Dude didn't respond it's his fault and not the ref. Simple.
As for the red K, that comment is normal. You hear that in the south with everyone no matter what race. It wasn't racist either, just that you're dumb as a chimp. That's all it was. I could of said Dodo bird but I didn't know if you would of known what that is.Last edited by Mr. Fantastic; 10-03-2012, 01:33 AM.Comment

Mosley was past his best. Enzo Mac was never good. There is a big difference. Enzo Mac is not even in La Porte class. Those guys that Chavez beat were good and not past their best. IMO he is underrated. There is a difference between him and most fighters today. He did fought 40+ taxi driver at the beginning of his career. But when he step up in class, he beat them. That is what great fighters do. He is the second best latino fighter of all time and definitely top 50 ATG. Higher than most overrated fighters of today that some people around here make them top 50.I know that man but Mosley was rated at the top when Floyd fought him... Enzo Mac was rated at the top when Haye fought him....
In our generation, once a fighter gets beat convincingly, he is exposed or done or whatever. I feel this didn't apply with Chavez's opponents?Comment

I don't even get what you mean by that.... a) Nobody is expected to know what fighters a guy fought off by heart. b) Especially if that guy was boxing when I was not alive c) Boxrec is a decent resource for looking at a record. So stop acting like a keyboard warrior and stop posting crap if you have nothing to say but infantile insults. So, you've just called him overrated, but the gone on to state that you 1) you don't know the first thing about his career and 2) you don't know the first thing about any of his opponents because you didn't watch boxing then. How do you even know who was rated where if you don't know who he fought and what they did? You talk about Enzo Mac and Mosley, then state that Chavez's opponents weren't like these guys, while having previously stated you didn't watch any of his career and don't know anything about his opponents...I know that man but Mosley was rated at the top when Floyd fought him... Enzo Mac was rated at the top when Haye fought him....

The least you could do before calling a legend of the game and ATG overrated is look up his opponents and what he did. He's actually become very underrated by a lot of people here. The latter part of his career and Don King treatment put some of him toward the end, but he is considered one of the GOATs for a very good reason. I'll break it down very briefly.
Holds record for most consecutive title defenses at 27.
He holds the record for most ever championship fights at 37.
Holds record for most title fight victories at 31.
Longest undefeated streak in history at 13 years and 87 fights or whatever (until Whitaker for me).
Equal record holder with Joe Louis for most title fight knock outs.
6 time World champ in 3 divisions.
P4P number 1 for about 4 years and in the top ten P4P for nearly a decade.
Now, the whole thing about these bums that he fought? Bull****. He fought an incredible number of champions and in the 80's, there wasn't even the WBO title yet, and the IBF was still not fully recognised as a legitimate title. It wasn't until the late 80's/90's that the IBF gained recognition as a major world title.
So, when you think about how many champs he beat you have to take into account that it was also at a time, unlike now, when being a champ actually meant something and there weren't five or six 'champions' in each division. There were two, and later just the 3.
He beat champions Jose Luis Ramírez, Rafael Limón, Rocky Lockridge, Meldrick Taylor, Roger Mayweather, Lonnie Smith, Sammy Fuentes, Héctor "Macho" Camacho, Juan Laporte, Edwin Rosario, Greg Haugen, Tony López, Giovanni Parisi, Joey Gamache and Frankie Randall. That's 15 champions. A staggering amount in those days. Even today, that is incredible, but because of the absurd amount of titles available, it's so much easier to have beaten a 'champion' now.
Not knowing about any of these guys because you didn't watch boxing, it's no different than if were beating every single top fighter (just like how you listed Enzo and Mosley...then said it didn't apply to Chavez) from 130 to 140/147 today, champions and top contenders. If you were to list all the champions today in each division from 130 to 140 and then the top five contenders, Chavez would have beaten basically every one of them. Think about that. Not one guy in a division just to grab a quick title (David Diaz cough cough) but every top fighter in each division, champion and contender.Last edited by BennyST; 10-03-2012, 11:38 AM.Comment

Mosley koed Mayorga with 2 seconds left. If Richard Steele let's Taylor continue there's no doubt in my mind Chavez would have put Taylor and cause further brain damage to Taylor.Comment
