Ward isn't a big puncher and it's not like he'll suddenly get it at 175.

Ward deserves to be a p4p fighter because he's a masterful technician not because he's a beast. the Dawson fight was the execption not the rule.

    a side note

Ward did dominate almost everybody at 168 execpt Sakio Bika, don't be a Boxrec commando and believe the score cards because they were siht.

If Dawson was soo weak, have did he get up after the first knockout and give up a great fight ?

After the fight why did dawson repeatly state have strong ward was and that he wouldent take anything from him regarding the weight.?

Can you honestly say that Dawson looked weak or drained , honestly ?

Becuase the Dawson I saw looked perfect, and not weak at all.

Wards game is to neutralize his apponents best weapons, and when he has done that he starts drilling into there weakneses.
That is have he have won every fight I have seen him in.

Ward nutralized Dawsons best weapon aka his reach by either being too far away or to close, then he nutralized his boxing by getting in and throw quick left hooks inside Dawsons zone where dawson couldet retaliate with his great pure boxing.

The reason why Ward was such a favorit going into the fight have nothing to do with have he is fast or that he is a great inside fighter.
Its because he knows what to do,and when to do it in order to win, and in turn his opponent will make mistakes and eventually shut down.

He is everything Amir kahn is not, and that is proberly why kahn`s people have lead him to Virgil hunter in hope that he to will learn the magic.

Problem is that Kahns people diddent tell kahn that what Ward`s got is somthing you are born with, its have your brian is hardwired.

His fights aren't even close contests. What does it matter if he fights in his hometown or not? The judges have easy work the nights he fights and was a non-hometown crowd gonna stop Dawson from having to quit after being beat so bad?

        *buzzer sounds* WRONG!

That's a cop-out & you know it. He had the home field advantage in the Super Six & benefits from it now. You have to be able to go out & win on the road. Ward is definitely in the mix, but when was the last time he had to go to hostile grounds to fight & win? *crickets* - Yeah, I knew you would say that....

        +1......

Have you played any sports whatsoever?
Actually answer the question. HOW did the hometown advantage help? Where have the judges given him the benefit of the doubt where he needed his hometown advantage? Please explain how being in his hometown in most of the fights in the super six, not the final fight in which he also dominated, helped him out?

I have played sports including boxing. When you KO a guy in the 10th round it doesn't matter what city, state or country you are in. You win the fight.

Ward won the Super Six championship by beating Froch in Atlantic City. How is that fighting in his hometown?

to me he looked like a zombie and I'm not the only who thought that. Dawson was a skinny 175, pure muscle so he cut muscle to make the weight and that's never a good thing. I could understand if he was waterweight but it wasn't. look at him then take into consideration that he was having problems making the weight and getting floored by sparring partners. it was a weight drain. I'm not blaming Ward because it wasn't his fault but lets not fool ourselves and believe he magically turned into a power puncher because he didn't.

Then do it on the road as well. Look what happened to Bute in England.....and Ward wanted no parts of Canada....

                      America isn't a town......

If he was always getting the nod on close decisions then it would be an issue but since his fights have all been pretty one-sided I think that the fact he always fights at home a moot point...........
