Re watched Toney vs Griffin 1

I know, but in the second fight most people knew it was a robbery, in the first fight everyone except Big George thought it was close. Toney was blocking most of his shots and countering, going to the body, he didn’t look great that night but to me I gave Griffin 3 rounds in that fight

The first fight had a lot of close rounds that were difficult to score, IMO. What's interesting is that Toney was winning on all 3 scorecards after 9, but all 3 judges had Griffin sweeping the final 3.

I think I watched one of the Toney vs Griffin fights but I gotta re-watch them now. btw did you watch Toney vs Tiberi? cause that was a robbery too.

I mean I can see how it looked close and the rounds were competitive, but I felt Toney was landing the much harder accurate shots, and was picking off most of Griffin’s punches. A close win okay, but a lost for Toney after moving up and fighting like that was crazy to me

Montell Griffin was a scrappy little boxer at Light Heavyweight though. Although I thought he lost both of the Toney fights he had a good gameplan and gave Toney some problems. The first fight I thought was closer.

He was giving Roy some issues in their first fight as well.

You sure you didn't look only at Toney throwing? Happens to a lot of people who like a fighter more than the other.

I’m fair when I judge, but I gave Griffin 3 rounds but i think 4 or 5 can be debated, I just didn’t think he won the fight at all, he was hitting a lot of glove while Toney was landing solid shots especially to the body. But to me Griffin was a very good fighter I just think he got 2 gifts against Toney. I think he gave Roy way more trouble in their first fight then he gave Toney in either fight, but shouldn’t have a win against either guy
