Something sweet about seeing an unbeaten puncher who is in love with their power get their a$$ drilled.

Rodriguez would give Pavlik a boxing lesson. Pascal would be a tougher fight for him but he has the skills to beat him

Love this kids background. However, against the top echelon, unfortunately, he does nothing that overwhelms me into thinking he can be a world champ. Other than Pascal, he gets spanked by those elite fighters even Pavlik imo.

Why was Escalera even fighting on HBO? that was a mismatch from the opening bell. silly fight. I think La Bomba took a few steps back imo.

Despite the foregoing, I really hope La Bomba proves me wrong, I like the kids makeup and purpose!

Would like to see Rodriguez fight Stevenson, Bika, or Oosthuizen.

A lesson? Did you see the fight last night? Even a drunken pavlik would smash rodriguez if he fought the way he did last night.

I don't think he can give anyone a "boxing lesson". He doesn't have the skill to do that. I really don't like his style, he fights a lot like Manny Pacquiao. He looks like he can beat the top guys on activity and just throwing a lot of punches.

He's fun to watch and gets hit a lot so I guess he has that going for him. He's not a bad fighter.

Other than the posters commenting, this is a mirror reflection of a Froch thread of the past 1, 2, 3, 4 years (****... even a few months ago) on NSB.

Similar (and worse) comments were said about Froch for years (about not impressing, being trash, and what not), even after the grinding out a war against Pascal and showing resilience to stop Taylor, because Froch doesn't do anything that stands out.

This is part of the reason why NSB always needs fighters to prove themselves (against the opposition they deem as provable) because they can't judge what they don't understand. Speed? Check... Power? Check... Chin? Check... Anything else? There's more to it?!?!?!

Rodriguez could stand to shore up his technique, but, regardless of contrary opinion, Rodriguez can make a good dent at 168.

There's a reason why Froch singled Rodriguez out in the Froch-Abraham post fight interview after he was his sparring partner for that training camp...

That was a great slugfest. I was amazed Escalera could stay on his feet in that first round from the beating he took.
