Sergio is proven, he belongs at the top stage, he's beaten the guys he had to beat to get here. He was ****ed over by HBO and Sulaiman. HBO forced him to fight Dzinzuruk instead of Zbik, every one was cheering HBO for stepping up and forcing a good match-up.

Before throwing out names like Golovkin, Geale, N'Jikam, Quillin, why don't we first see THEM fight eachother? Martinez already fought the top guys like Williams, Pavlik, Macklin and Chavez Jr. Now it's their turn, and it's Martinez's turn to get paid.

I don't like it as far as being a fan but that's how it is, boxing is business now.

As far as not selling, I never said it wouldn't sell. However, Cotto vs Alvarez is much more marketable and in my honest opinion Cotto has more chances against Alvarez than he does against Martinez. Overall, a fight against Canelo makes much more sense for Cotto.

Cotto is one of the elite but it just seems like he doesn't pack enough power behind his punches. Martinez would KO or get a late tko against cotto.

Martinez is my 2nd fav boxer behind Cotto, IMO he beats anybody not named Ward right now including Cotto, Mayweather, Pacquiao, up to 168.

Cotto should just fight Canelo and stay away from him, though it would be a competitive fight.

I know Martinez's resume and its avergae at best his best win is still a win over Williams.

I also know that Macklin, Barker, Dzizniruk and Junior have beaten NO ONE and Serg gave them a shot.

No matter strongly you feel he deserves to be at the top with Cotto and Mayweather. The fact is when it comes to being a draw or bringing any type of cash to the table. Martinez doesnt do that. Now add that on top of being at MW his last 7 fights and its easy to say why his call outs might go unanswered.

There are still guys in HIS weight class that he can fight. Pirog, Geale and GGG for starters. Since when is beating Chavez Jr the catalyst for big PPV fights. I know how you feel. I used to feel the same way about Williams until it hit me that no matter how I feel about a guy if he doesnt have a fan base and wont sit at a weight and be relevant his call outs will fall on deaf ears.

Every fighter wants the big payday. Martinez has more work to do. Why not fight GGG and Pirog. Worrying about 147 pounders and blown up MW's will get him nowhere fast.

I don't understand the logic when ppl say Cotto is ducking Martinez for money.Trout has zero fan base, not a draw, and has never been on ppv.Needless to say the fight is on Shotime for free and Cotto took it anyways.Trout is a top 5 jr mw so I think he chose the right fight. If money was that important Cotto would of opted a CW rematch with Pacquiao whether he liked it or not.

                      Perro?

                      Son you have me confused.

You said Martinez doesn't bring anything but it sure did with Chavez Jr. huh? I mean all those 600k PPVs were just Jr right?

Cotto hasn't even fought a top 5 154 pounder, he won't ever get near the #1 guy at a higher weight.
