I highly doubt that. He went down to Mexico to fight Angulo, who was far more feared than Canelo at this stage, and stopped him. Kirkland is just being a dumbass with his career.

If no Kirkland, why doesn't Canelo fight Molina/Quintana/Dzinziruk, all available for a December fight.

Cotto should fight Canelo and stay as far away from Martinez as possible.
Martinez would deliver a frightful beating. At least Alvarez is more hittable and has a bigger fan base than Martines.

so are you in favor of fighters taking less challenging fights because it makes sense "dollars wise"? And secondly how would this fight not sell? Martinez and JCC Jr did great ppv numbers when it was both of their debut on ppv? You dont think Martinez vs Cotto would generate any ppv buys?
