Mayweather was already a big ww star when Williams was making waves in and around that division. This fight was talked about before Oscar, so Floyd, while a big name in and around 147, was not a house hold super star. There can be no excuses for the fight not happening.Comment

Martinez is just plain silly; no way he beats mayweather. None of that putting hands down sheeit with mayweather. Martinez isn't even De La Hoyas caliber when DLH was at his best and DLH put it on Mayweather.Comment

Dude seriously???? I'm not a Mayweather fan (never have been) but the version that Pac fought was not even close to prime and was drain with no real trainer at that! Get off the crack homy! At least Mayweather fought him at a comfortable weight. Both Many and Mayweather play the 'I will fight fighters I can beat' game. So, I don't defend neither of them...get the hell out of here with that nonsense!!!!Comment

I can't believe that people are still on this "Mayweather is scared of Pacquaio, Mayweather ducks tough fights, Pac is greater than Mayweather" nonsense. People, Pac has arguably lost his last two fights. Personally, I had him losing 7-5 to JMM and winning 7-5 against Bradley. But I definitely couldn't put up too much fight against someone saying he lost both. Dan Rafael, who hates Floyd Mayweather like no other, has Pac down to #4 on his P4P list. Pac is down to #3 on the Yahoo list. Matter of fact, there's not a credible list out there that has Pac #1. He's not the best and never was. He's no different than the DLHs, Titos, Mosleys, and even B-Hops of the world who had "stints" as the P4P #1 when it was clear to everyone that didn't flat out hate the guy that Roy Jones was the true P4P King during the time. Pac is in rebuild mode. He needs to get a win against an elite fighter. And then, maybe then can he be taken seriously again as the best of his era or best now. But until then, all the BS about Mayweather being scared of this and that is nonsense. The guy just got outta lockup. Let Pac beat JMM convincingly, something he has failed to do in three tries. Until then, I don't wanna even hear the Mayweather ducking Pac nonsense cause there's nothing to duck. And as for Martinez, let him try not getting put on his ass by an unproven prospect before he flaps gums about being the best. And fight Ward. Its funny he's always calling out smaller guys but turns ***** when it comes to fighting a bigger one. I mean the "I'm too small" **** needs to stop. This cat weighed 176 30 days before his fight with Chavez. I think Ward weighed about 180 30 days before his fight with Dawson. Martinez aint near as "little" as he claims to be.Comment

When De La Hoya was at his best he lost mostly every big fight he had against top guys. De La Hoya did not put it on Mayweather. Martinez is knocking out bigger guys back to back and he just out boxed a guy who out weighed him significantly. While I agree Mayweather is an all around better boxer than Martinez technically, I still feel like Martinez has some pros that Mayweather most likely will have trouble with. Being a lefty is one and the other is being able to adjust and figure out his opponents during the fight. Look, Cotto caught Floyd and had him leaking and to me Martinez is way better than Cotto, faster and stronger. The right punch from Martinez that could catch Mayweather off guard could put him down and maybe out. Mosley rocked Floyd. Not unbelievable that Martinez would not have the same success. Plus Floyd is not strong enough to keep Martinez at bay. Would be a great fight but giving it to Martinez if that one ever happened.Last edited by GRUSTLER; 09-29-2012, 06:35 PM.Comment
