For the kind of fighter Oscar was, taking on all the best the world had to offer, he sure is fabricating gingers star from junk.

I would love to see it but Cotto won't risk it. Martinez would beat Cotto down. I respect Cotto but no way he takes on Sergio Martinez simply because the money ain't there for the risk and just in case you think I'm hating....
What other names are out there for me to make money against? Floyd, Manny and Antonio. You think Sergio Martinez will make me this kind of money?

"One thing you can't take away from Barker is he has the courage to face the best," Martinez said. "He has the courage to face the best more than Cotto or Chavez. He has more courage than them. I am fighting an undefeated fighter. As I have always said, I am ready for anyone. Nobody else took a step forward to make this fight, but Barker did. I am very disappointed in Cotto. He has no balls to face me."

Martinez said he was willing to face Cotto at middleweight or drop down to junior middleweight to fight him. Martinez has animosity toward Cotto because he said Cotto refused to shake his hand when they ran into each other at a function in Mexico a couple of months ago. Rather than face Martinez, Cotto is headed toward a likely Dec. 3 rematch with Antonio Margarito.

But all this seems is that oscar is worried about his pocket size.

Cotto is going to have trouble against Trout's style, but his timing, accuracy, versatility, Pedro's gameplan, and Cotto's all round skills are going to put Trout in a position he's never been in as a pro. Cotto can win the fight on the inside by a wide margin and can win the fight on the outside by jabbing and counter punching the counter puncher.

Trout is a good fighter, but his current version isn't enough to beat a Pedro Diaz trained Cotto.

Yes but....Oscar wasn't exactly like that. I was there and know that Oscar never took a fight where his advisors (nick-named "The Brains Trust") thought might be anywhere close to even. He had a couple of close decisions against opponents he was expected to beat comfortably and finally slipped up against Trinidad. Trindad had been talking seriously about moving up in weight, and in fact after the Oscar fight he did. They could have fought Trinidad long before but waited until they figured he was at a disadvantage. At the weigh-in he was only skin and bones, but his indomitable spirit and stength pulled him through. He changed gears in the last half and had Oscar running for 5 rounds. Won them all except for a single round with one judge.

Anyway. just a point I want to make which seems to have been long forgotten. Not to mention that in the first Mosley fight (which was a local rivalry) his favourite judges nearly came through for him with a ridiculous split decision, even though Mosley walked away with the last half. Nevertheless, it was a good fight, but the way he stole Sturm's title should have been regarded as highway robbery.

I'm not saying that he wasn't a very good fighter, he was, and I liked watching him. But facts sometimes intrude on the "rose coloured glasses" aspects of things.
