Keith Kizer, the executive director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, sat down with BoxingScene.com to discuss the recent situation with Mexican superstar Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-1-1, 32KOs).
Last week, it was confirmed that Chavez tested positive for marijuana. The test sample was taken immediately following his twelve round decision loss to Sergio Martinez at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. The fight took place on September 15th.
This marked the second time that Chavez tested positive for a banned substance in Nevada. In 2009, he tested positive for Furosemide, a diuretic, after his win over Troy Rowland.
