Hell the guy wouldn't even look at Sergio in the Street or shake his hand.

Trout beats him but Cotto likely gets a gift decision then Canelo knocks Cotto into retirement.

He will not go within a thousand miles of Sergio Martinez.
Dan, I know you are not a hater but you twisting the story or putting to much to it.

Without arguing the serious beating Martinez could give Cotto or debating that Cotto style might have a better chance that plenty around here thinks, as Cotto shown before when people doubt him, lets talk about facts.

Cotto mentioned Sergio as a possible opponent. Actually according to Cotto Team he is in their future plans. He made it clear that he wants to win a title at a fourth division. He wants that legacy fight. Cotto already have the money, but he wants the legacy. Whatever Sergio think happened back them, it is just speculation. That is the way Cotto is. A strange, abnormal person. Please, take in consideration that he is fighting a taller rangier southpaw in Trout. That can be a preparation for Sergio, not cause of the style, but because southpaw stance and faster hands than any available opponents.

I know Canelo-Cotto makes a lot of sense (Mexican-PR rivalry, 2 big draws, etc...), but is Canelo willing to come into Cotto's "home court" and fight him? I see that potentially being an issue for that fight.

Martinez has let it known that he's willing to move to 54 for the $$$ fights, so I don't see him having a problem moving down to 157, putting his belts on the line (Cotto mentioned in the clip he wanted to be the 1st Puerto Rican to win 4 titles and wanted a CW for the WBC/Ring belts) and coming to MSG for a Cotto fight.

If Cotto beats Trout I still don't think he can beat Martinez at 154, 157 or 160. I can't think of anything in boxing that Cotto does as well as Martinez except for Cotto's great left hook to the body. I don't think he would land that punch enough to win. Martinez by ko in my opinion. Cotto has a great jab but so does Martinez and he has lots of reach on Cotto.
