it's not the same because Jr has failed more than 1 drug test and its pretty obvious that he's been protected by his father and the WBC.

I really don't know why the hell year round drug testing isn't done. Boxing has the weakest drug testing policy and I'm damn sure there are lots of boxers that use PEDs including blood doping. Martinez has the right idea but unfortunately testing a month before, a day before and the day of does nothing because no one that uses PEDs uses close to the fighting date. They only use it months before the fight while they are training and then slowly come off of it. So Martinez has the right idea but Jr and anyone else could still be doping because testing only works if its done randomly for the entire 365

Yeah you're definitely smoking banana peels if you believe that. How do you duck someone that you have already beat the shit out of?

Martinez was very skeptical about facing Chavez in a rematch at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Argentine champion has no problem with the venue - but only if Chavez Jr. undergoes Olympic style drug testing. [Click Here To Read More]

If Martinez asked Pacquiao to take a OSDT Pac groupies would be calling Martinez a coward if Pacquiao turned it down.

Also Chavez junior probably used that Weed he smoked to hide roids in his system if he took any.So i can`t blame Martinez.

So this probably means we wont be seeing a Martinez/Chaver Junior rematch,I don`t care to see one anyway,i would rather Martinez move on and take on fighters like Ishe Smith,Cotto,Mayweather,Alvarez,Erislandy Lara,Froch,Trout then retire.

Team Martinez shown have shown their intelligence time and again. Admitting to this last positive drug test Chavez has passed all leverage to Martinez to insist on OST. Team Chavez are the ones clamoring for the rematch not SM. Smart move indeed. They will truly expose chavez in part 2.

Not a fair comparison. Chavez is now in rarefied air as far as drug cheats go. He's been nailed twice on day of testing. That is just idiotic and begs the question of what he's getting away with if he's been busted twice under those circumstances. The only other boxer I can think of that has two similar positives is James Toney.

To compare that to Pacquiao's situation isn't fair. First, Pacquiao has never failed a drug test. Second, Pacquiao comes in less than the weight limit for his welterweight fights and well below the average in ring welterweight average on the night of the fight as compared to Chavez coming in to the fight as a cruiserweight. When somebody puts on huge pounds after weighin like Chavez does, it is a hallmark of diuretic use. Third, Mayweather's "demand" smacked of power play/excuse because he only asked for it very late in the negotiations after all other major terms were agreed to, and he'd never demanded it of any fighter before (indeed, it was unprecedented at the professional level). I think the circumstances have changed somewhat now in that this isn't really unprecedented anymore plus the fact that two guys nobody suspected of doing steroids went down under VADA testing (Peterson and Berto) makes Mayweather's request more legit. It is water under the bridge now because Pacquiao's camp has agreed to do it.

Dude was stronger in round 12 than he was in round one. Chavez is definitely using. Sergio is my man but he needs to defend his title once or twice then fight Ward because Sergio is a full fledged middle-wt and can easily fight @ 164-166.
Ward would be too much for Martinez above 160 period. Ward ain't just a big dude there Martinez can fight. He's a skillful bigger guy and the reality of it is that Chavez was bigger than Martinez now a naturally bigger man like Ward would be massive and put a terrible beating on Sergio. I'm a Sergio Martinez fan and have been for years but lets keep it realistic. Martinez should just stay at 160 or if he can still get down like he says to 154 then do that. He's always in great shape so can't see why 154 is impossible for him like some of the posters on here say but they say he should fight above 160? Martinez has a better chance at being affective at 154 where he fought before than 168 where he hasn't even tested the water and people are ready to throw him in with Andre Ward? Have to see the bigger picture. Canelo is a fight Martinez should campaign for or Cotto like he has been doing being that Cotto was thinking of making a move to 160.

Martinez is the kind of fighter/boxer that capitalizes off of his mistakes from his first fights against opponents. 2nd fight would be even more one sided with Chavez Jr taking an even more vicious beating. Only reason for this fight happening is because of the $ but other than that, it's pointless.
