lol and there are STILL delusional fans thinking Khan is going to do anything in this sport. The guy is basically done, he's lucky he overachieved as much, his punch resistance is horrible and it's only going to get worse. His technique was never that good to begin with as well, just a fast 1-2 aggressive amateur style boxer with no D.
Has the following "young" talent hit their peak already?

Anyways, I agree with everybody here that it's ridiculous to have Donaire on this list, and this is coming from one of his biggest haters. The guy is at least accomplished in some regards.
And those other fighters may be far from ever being the best, but look what they all have in common; they are all exciting fighters. These fighters always put on a show, even if they're on the losing end.Comment

Only focusing on Khan/Ortiz/Rios:
They have room for technical improvements, especially Rios. But I think their styles are set in stone. I think Rios will make the least amount of improvements throughout his career. Khan getting a new trainer will do him a lot of good. Hopefully, he can become defensively responsible and learn better foot-work. Ortiz has the most complete foundation IMO. Not utilizing the jab consistently and squaring up when he throws the lead left are his most notable flaws. His defense could use some work too. Ortiz's biggest issue is his mind (similar to Judah). He's a physical beast, but he's mentally fragile. The fight can be taken OUT of him by his opponent, he's proof that Boxing is mental just as much as it is physical.
Rios seems to have the strongest will, while Ortiz has the weakest. Khan has a strong will, but his style/technical problems stem from his self-perception. Khan suffers from delusion of grandeur lol, I think he believes that he's a much more complete fighter than what he really is. Khan DOES have some skills and he's proven it, but when he starts relying on his speed, he shoots himself in the foot and winds up getting hurt.
Rios is the one with the lowest ceiling, and he's going to have a very rough time at 140/147 where there are tough guys who can give just as good as they take.Last edited by kiaba360; 09-25-2012, 08:38 PM.Comment

I believe so. Donaire is the best of the bunch, but at 29 he's hit his peak. Some of the things the others lack, maybe with the exception of Rios, like heart, chin, dedication, can't be tought. Plus the lack of pure talent is missing with a few of them. Of course it's possible for them to improve. I just think it's doubtful.Last edited by KingTito; 09-25-2012, 08:51 PM.Comment

Chavez jr is still a good fighter & he has much more left to give in boxing. Being beaten by Sergio Martinez, (a top 3 fighter), is nothing to be ashamed of.
Khan was & may still be overrated. He's done at the top.
Ortiz is a gate keeper now.
Rios has a tall order but if he gets past this without being stopped, win or lose, he has some exciting fights left at 140.
Donaire has actually done fantastic considering & if he does beat the ring champ, he's set for life.Comment
