Another thread hating on British boxing, the reason why our fighters get hyped is the same reason every young boxer from american gets hyped....we have a history of great boxers. Take british boxing away from the world and you'll be left with a pretty boring ass sport.

No hating, I'm British and I just find it odd how fighters who have proved themselves (Burns) taken the hard fights and done everything right are still not as highly rated as Mitchell, Brook etc.

The same people who were all over Kevins nuts are the same people who have now gone very quiet.

On ******** boxing i swear to god Brook is like the 2nd coming of jesus, they believe if he fights in America he'll be able to walk on water to get there.

Also i see that D-Mize say DeGale won Gold as far as im concerned that doesn't mean your automatically Lennox Lewis, He lost to a guy who didn't even make the Olympic team.

The Olympic boxing concept is corrupt, massively flawed and means **** all in the scheme of things in the pro's.

Winning a gold Olympic medal alone gives you a massive boost of publicity and attention. He signed a million pound contract with Warren and was to be his flagship fighter.

Burns isn't highly rated because he never received the attention Brook has early in his career and he's not a marketable fighter. Where as Brook has the looks and fighting style to attract fans.

I don't know where you get the idea that Brook and Mitchell are rated higher than Burns?

I think you're confusing that with popularity.

Na on a thread made months ago predicting the outcome 70% said Mitchell which amazed me.

I said Burns in a close UD, did not see Burns stopping Mitchell that early.

I wouldn't say Brook has that fan friendly style, the style Burns showed Saturday night is much more appealing.

          Do you not think?

Just because 70% of people thought Mitchell would win does not mean they don't have Burns rated higher. Burns has a very boring style compared to Brook, hands-up, methodical boxer, not much movement. Where as Brook slips punches and comes back with some nice counters, you couldn't put an entertaining KO highlight reel together of Burns' fights.

But the style he fought against Mitchell was exciting, and I would never want to watch a highlight reel of Brook, the guy is boring, his interviews are boring, his sheffiled accent is annoying, he has very little charisma.

I would rather watch a highleet reel of Burns last 5 fights than Brooks. I'm sorry Brooks is not exciting he has decent boxing skills again not fan friendly, I don't even think hes that slick.

In the fight with Matthew Hatton it should of been a re-run of Maywether/Gatti.

How can you pick someone to beat some else and not rate them higher than the person you picked to lose?

You're comparing Brook to Mayweather and Hatton to Gatti?

I think 95% of this forum would agree with me about Brook being a more entertaining fighter than Burns. Burns isn't marketable, lacks KO power, no charisma - still works in his local sports retailer, that's the only marketable trait he has, apart from being Scottish.

I'd fancy BJS to beat Murray even though I rate Murray higher.

Na using what happend in the Gatti/May fight as an example of the type of annihilation hatton should of recieved from Kell Brook in context to how Brook was bummed up as being a superstar slickster. It didn't happen and i thought nothing of the way he beat Hatton, again it was hard to watch.

Is that true about Burns? just shows how little money boxers can make even if their world champion, its mad how footballers get so much in context to how hard boxers train and the torment they put on their bodys.

Boxing really is a cut throat business.

You don't rate Saunders? I'm sitting on the fence with him not quite sure what to make of him.

Murray in my opinion is a heavybag that occasionly hits back.

                    I believe Burns is underrated
                    you realise they're both British?

Froch was underrated for a long time, possibly still is by some.
