Of the past - trinidad, prime chris eubank (no joke - the accuracy and speed of his finishes were brilliant pre watson II). Also - remember RJJ ending the pazienza fight...brilliant.

If you are talking of the past, then Sugar Ray Leonard should be on top.

I have never seen anybody who dished out those combos faster than Leonard when he sees the opponents gets hurt. All kinds of punches coming in from all angles.

Here's my numero uno for today's fighters....

Pacman no doubt! When you k.o. two greats, it's tough to argue
      w/ that.

Rafa is nice, but who has he fought?
      "

Only future hall of famers Tim Austin and Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson, both of whom he KOed.

It's definately Rafa, with Pac a close second.

Can you honestly say that Rafa's top competition is up to par w/ the 2 legends?

Somebody also brought up Rafa's two past opponents in Tim Austin(just who in the world is Tim Austin in the big scheme of things)

Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson- That's not exactly "Too Sharp" in there
          The guy is completely over-the-hill
and getting trampled by guys named
          Jhonny Gonzalez, c'mon buddy.

Despite the fact the competition he's faced is solid....you are arguing a moot point considering Marquez is a better finisher than the "2 legends".

If you're going to give credit to Pac for stopping Barrera.....then give credit to Junior Jones as well....and lets be realistic.

Jones is not a good finisher.

Yeah, except Rafa beat Too Sharp 4 years ago, when Johnson was definately not over the hill and he had only one loss, in his second professional fight, AND he beat Tim Austin when he was undefeated and going for his 11th consecutive title defense fight.

I understand if you don't know either Austin or Johnson, because only knowledgeable fans do, but don't try to undermine their stature as elite boxers.

Oh, and don't you think the best finisher in the sport would have been able to finish a guy after he knocked him down three times in the first round? Rafa would
