I hope GBP doesn't even entertain the thought of that match-up. Maidana is in line to fight the winner of Malignaggi/Cano, so he should stay in that lane.

If the fight happens I'm conflicted. With Chavez we saw what can happened when a fighter is protected for the duration of his career, they find that they can't handle the heat certain fighters bring.

With that in mind I wouldn't mind seeing his confidence grow to the point that he becomes deluded only for his promoters to put him in the ring with a real animal after being forced into a corner.

Seriously though what the **** are the sanctioning body's doing? If he is carrying a title at least make him fight the ranked fighters in his weight class.

Apparently they pitched the Josesito fight as a "sellout" when rows and rows of tickets were still available on Ticketmaster.

When I read that tweet, I was hoping it was just some personal thoughts from one of the guys. But it does sound like it's based on something they heard.

Sh-t match up, Maidana is too small for the skills he has. He'd either get outboxed or knocked out. If he was small but very skillful and had good defense, then it'd be different. But he's limited.

If it does happen it makes perfect sense why Maidana complained about 147 and still decided to stay there. That means GBP asked/forced him to stay there to get a shot at Canelo.
