Comments Thread For: Diego Chaves Says He Received Amir Khan Proposal

WBA interim-welterweight champion Diego Chaves (22-0, 18KOs) is pondering several possibilities for his next fight - including the opportunity to face British fighter Amir Khan (26-3, 18KOs) in the fall. Chaves doesn't the date or the money involved, but he's willing to consider the opportunity. Khan has lost his last two bouts. He was stopped in four rounds by Danny Garcia in July and lost a twelve round split decision to Lamont Peterson in December.

if the money offered is fair, take it!! chaves will get the exposure he needs. there will be the risk of getting robbed, but imo it's worth it if chaves does in fact put up a fight and it's broadcasted by someone like hbo or showtime (even just a UK channel would be great). plus, with a record of 22 wins and 18 KO's, there's a chance to knock him out. to me this is a no brainer. not many opportunities like this will come around.

        "Chaves doesn't the date..."

As a professional, that kind of word swallowing shouldn't be excusable.

Khan doesn't have the chin for boxing. That's a given. And Chavez has the power to knock Khan out again. Now that's another given. Khan can do himself a favor maybe run for parliament.

You seem to have deep hatred for the guy. Did you eat cereal he shat in? Really, Khan didn't do too bad.

I was gonna say Idk this guy but his KO ratio is pretty high. How hard does he really hit? Not sure why Khan is picking these type of opponents, look at what happened to Linares. Dude hasn't done no work with his new trainer and is picking hard hitters. Do a soft touch first and see how well the trainer (maybe Virgil) and him do together.

Hmm just watched the video. The dude is a little wild and gets hit quite a lot but he got some good hand speed. I'd give Khan a chance but if he fights how he usually fights... He's fked.
