its good that mesi's back, but hes not gonna last.

he sqeaked by barett (even was KDd by the feather fisted monte).
he blew away TOS (who cares?).
and damn near got KOd by jirov.

just like ruiz, nobody is lucky forever.

I think this is risky buisness. What made him OK to fight again?

        Yea...It's a pretty risky move.

I thought he had what it took to be champion though.

          hmm

Man, you guys are IGNORING the obvious.

          1) The guy was cleared by 4 doctors to fight.

          2) Jirov's punching power has NOTHING to do with Mesi's injury. It's the PLACEMENT of the punch that did the damage. Can you say "duh"? When you get hit on the brain stem it's VERY easy to sustain a brain injury. I could do it to Mesi if I had that same angle.

The first thing I thought of when I read this thread topic was, oh boy, something bad is gonna happen. I don't see this good in any way and someone else should step in to stop him. Of course now's a great time for him to step back in when the division is in the ****hole, though I don't see him getting far against the heavier hitters, nor do I see him doing anything better for his health. Please Mesi, find another job!

uhh, mesi didnt get hit on the brain stem, he got hit on the HEAD. if what you say is true, that means that every punch ever thrown shouldve done serious brain damage to whomever got hit with it. why is it that of all the punches that have been landed to various fighters, the punches that jirov threw at joe mesi were the ones that cause subderal hematomas?

Why will no one answer my question?

Why is it OK for MAB to fight and not Mesi? Everyone on this forum seems to have to problem with Marco but with Joe its another story.

Well of course he wasn't hit on the brain stem. Jirov would have had to rip through his head to do that, but Mesi was hit on the back of the head under which the brain stem lies. Hematomas occur much easier around the back of the head than other places, as there is less protection.

The reason Joe suffered a hematoma is due to punches sustained to the back of the head. As I said, it had nothing to do with Jirov's power or lack thereof. Anyone could damage Mesi hitting him in that area hard.
