No leverage if he drops. He has leverage at 160 because he has a belt and a wannabe belt.
If he drops down, there is no reason for anybody to fight him. He'll be more avoided than the fat chick at the club.

Hate to see GGG struggling to find an opponent. I, like everyone else, want to see how he fairs with a big name.

This becomes more of a testament to how fraudulent Sturm was, he's being given a chance to quickly reestablish himself, this is sad right here.

Welcome to the life of Martinez after he iced Williams in their second fight.

It would be nice win for GGG as Catic is still name. Can't see this being competitive fight. GGG stops Catic in the middle/late rounds...

if golovkin is as good as his promoters shout , why he hasn't fought anybody credible yet ? felix sturm just lost his title why to challenge him and not other middleweight champions .

Sturm always said he wants to fight Golovkin and isn`t afraid of him....so what is he waiting for? This is Sturm`s chance to win the championship back....I think the guy is a big coward

nobody with anything to lose is willing to take on GGG that's why he has to hunt somebody like sturm, well as long as he makes sure he knocks him the f*** out. I suppose he could call out people like geale, macklin, chavez and sergio but they don't want anything to do with him. Sturm will probably try to duck too. he is the biggest coward of the lot after all.

Pirog looks like the only guy that's willing to fight Golovkin.

Can't blame Triple G for wanting a name in Sturm.

Golovkin won't get much notoriety if he beats Pirog (Only in hardcore circles). But at least Sturm would have raise his profile.
I agree. Golovkin is looking for a big name, big money fight. His options at middleweight would really be Martinez, Chavez Jr. or Sturm. No money in fights against Geale or Pirog. Martinez won't fight Golovkin because he's also looking for big money and Golovkin isn't bringing any cash to the table. Chavez Jr. would never in a million years fight Golovkin; Chavez Jr. also is likely to be sitting on his ass for a year because of his failed drug test. Sturm is Golovkin's best chance to get a high profile fight. this would be a big fight in Europe and Golovkin has something that Sturm desperately needs (to continue to make cash)--a belt. The question is whether Sturm would take the fight. He's much more likely to seek a rematch with Geale which is a much more winnable fight for him.
