That's exactly what I was thinking. Or when Tyson had to apologize right after he bit off Holyfield's ear. Now I think Tyson is sorry about it but back then you'd could tell he was just reading what one of his people wrote. With Ryan Leaf he read the note, crumbled it up and threw it in a locker.

No excuse, no scapegoat. That's how fighters should behave.

That is why I dislike prepared statement, even if a dude truly feels sorry they come off as super phony. I understand there are better wordsmiths than JCC Jr. but speaking for yourself even if he doesn't sound as proper always sounds better.

Good for him at least owning it in this way though.

Basically.. "I take full responsibility for being mexican.. and when you're mexican, you HAVE TO SMOKE OUT every now and then... Thanks for understanding.. VIVA MEXICO!!!.. i'll be back later to work on my boxing, but not right now because i'm sleepy and got the munchies"

^^^This^^^. I bet some lawyer was standing over him while he was sleeping on his couch, handing him a piece of paper and pen saying "Here Julio, sign this"

Why does boxing care about marijuana? It's not performance enhancing. The only way to justify this is to test for alcohol and ban that too, a drug that is responsible for A LOT of deaths, vs marijuana, responsible for.... arguably 0.
