Soooooo, Arum's "more than 600K and counting" number was a fairy tale.

How many PPV's will Chavez Jr sell in his next big fight? Did Chavez Jr's little Latin Fury main event cards surpass even 50k?
It takes two to sell a lot of PPV's. Especially 500k like this. Last PPV that sold this much exactly, was Cotto-Margarito II. But Cotto couldn't sell half of that against Mayorga or Mosley. So it was actually both Cotto and Margarito and their bad blood that generated the interest. Just like Chavez Jr's name, and the bad blood between him and Martinez generated this many PPV buys.
No, it's not always successful (Hopkins/Calzaghe), but 24/7 does lift the buyrate.

Other than fighting Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto, Canelo, or Martinez, he does not repeat those numbers. Same with Martinez.

Bob Arum now says early ppv reports indicate more than 600,000 buys for #ChavezMartinez. He says buzz from conflicting cards "didn't hurt."

JCC Jr. Canelo would do very well also as long as Canelo keeps winning and JCC Jr. gets back on the right track, it would do less than Floyd-Canelo though because Floyd brings a rather different fan base while JCC and Canelo are mostly drawing from the same group but that group is huge and that fight would send them into overdrive maybe enough to get some other groups to buy in (especially if it is for all the marbles).
