The difference is Power Punchers and Sluggers can have success later in the careers more so than boxers... IE George Foreman. At this stage in their careers Pac's power carries the day... Ali was the greatest but yet he couldn't beat father time... Floyd is human his legs are gone and his reflexes are slowing...
True u can not escape time. I'm not saying Floyd is the exact same fighter he was in his 20's. But u are reaching too far when u day his legs are gone. it is clear he intentionally decide to fight a different style so u can't make a comparison as to how his skills eroded. I could see if he was trying to fight the same style and looked bad doing it. Then u could make a clear comparison. And what big punches did he really take against cotto? Some stiff jabs? Cotto didn't really land more than anyone else does. and they fought with heavier gloves then Floyd does at welterweight so his hand speed may not have looked as fast. Floyd is still Floyd.

      SMDH WOW!!!!!
Left hands coming straight down the pike from come-forward fighters? I sure did. Cotto has power in both hands, and was not just "tapping" Floyd with limp left jabs. I stand by what I said.

HIS comment is very asertive...floyd did have a lot of problems with hatton for the first 3 or 4 rounds due to hattons pressure....it was A VERY unconformtable situation for floyd....what happens afterwards is a different story...floyd starts elbow-clinthing in a ilegal manner and frustrating hatton to the point hatton is so lost he does not know how the f.ck to land a punch! and then comes the spectacular KO

floys overwhellming happiness face and celebration at the end the fight shows the relief he feels after struggling so hard
What's sad is that you honestly believe that.....truly sad.

Very simple and not going to get into detail for the 1000000000 time. 2 years ago, Floyd wins...today...Manny beats him. Floyd looked like sluggish, and slower against Ortiz, and Cotto(though his fan boys will say it was by design). His body does not move as fluently (torso mainly), and his feet are like stones now. Dont get confused with his shoulder movement (which is actually better on the ropes than anything else he does defensively in the center) that he has "GREAT FOOTWORK". He does not...hes very planted, and like Roy Jones, relies on physical reflexes when he moves or adjusts his core and shoulders. Whatever, just my 2 cents.

(Floyd cheerleaders get mad with reality in...5...4...3...2...1)

We can't go back in time and put a 28 year old Floyd against a 26 year old Pac... At 36 years old Floyd has lost a couple of steps, NOBODY can defeat time... Roy Jones would have never lost to the bums he lost to if he was in his 20's with all his reflexes and skill... I believe Ali beats Frazier the first timee without the 3 year lay off and etc... If the fight takes place next year Floyd would be 36 and Manny 34... With reflexes slowing down on both fighter it would come down to power, chin, grit, and heart. Manny KOs Floyd!!! In their late 20's and early 30's Floyd wins a defensive stinker.... At this age Floyd has to fight and during the fight at some point he is going to try and use the speed and reflexes he once had to avoid a punch and when they fail him lights out just like Roy Jones... Cotto would have never busted up a younger Floyd... Not to mention Floyd style is southpaw friendly... He was rocked even in hid 20's by southpaws Chop Chop and Judah.... Sorry Floyd lovers but your boy would be going to sleep!!!!
It's ok if you want that to happen lol, it really is, but the fact of the matter is this. Floyd still has his legs, still has his speed and still has his stamina. Manny's took a dive in all 3 of those categories. Add that to the fact that he's naturally the smaller man, lacks head movement, a jab, and defense. Manny has no chance of winning, at any age.
