  • Comments Thread For: Roach: People Warned Me About Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

When he first accepted the job of training middleweight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-1-1, 32KOs), trainer Freddie Roach received several warnings about the Mexican boxer's behavior.

On a scale of 1 to 10, Roach classified Chavez's last camp as a "3." He said the Mexican star refused to listen to him, and he refused to listen to his legenday father Julio Cesar Chavez Sr.

The biggest issue with me is, why was Jr. loading up with every punch he threw? Regardless of whether he didn't take training serious or not, Chavez fought like an idiot.

"You trained hard enough to lose" is my new favorite quote in boxing.
