It's nice when everything turns out the way it should for once.

Martinez definatly deserve it...man he made me a fan...not only boxing wise but everything...how he loves the sport and his desire for helping people and all...he is a great person! So sad that he is at the top so late...imagine he would be 27...maaan we would have so many more great years with him...

I think that he is probably gonna be the most famous argentinian boxer since Monzon.
              Isn't he already?

The first time I saw Martinez fight was in a live broadcast of his first bout with Paul Williams. I became an instant fan. Sergio has appeal that extends beyond Argentina. That's a real star. Of course, as you get closer to the source, the light shines brighter.

Martinez is on the verge of becoming one of those few guys in boxing who have a fan base and draws butts to seats. Right now is 1. Mayweather, 2. Pacquiao, 3. Cotto and after that you got the two overated mexicans Canelo and Chavez Jr who are still long way away from #3 Cotto but still can pack the house. Martinez now has a chance to build up from that win..

The media didn't care about him being one of the top 3 p4p, they became aware about his sudden popularity with the "dancing with the stars" TV show. Who knows, I hope this would help argentine boxing.
I'd say there's no doubt about it. Sergio has got to be an inspiration to all young Argentine hopefuls. As more of his people hear of his exploits and fame abroad, they'll hop on the wagon and create still greater fame. It'll create greater interest in boxing and help bring more attention to other Argentinean fighters and promotions. The real question is: will it last?
