I think that he is probably gonna be the most famous argentinian boxer since Monzon.

But for the boxing fans it's kind of odd since the news papers don't care too much about boxing, not as it should. The media didn't care about him being one of the top 3 p4p, they became aware about his sudden popularity with the "dancing with the stars" TV show. Who knows, I hope this would help argentine boxing.
I think Matthysse will be up there with those guys soon. Probably not at the same level as Martinez but I think he has potential to surpass Maidana.

She looks like Rachael Leigh Cook from the side.

I forgot what the outcome of that was.

        He was plenty entertaining.

Castro had an awfully padded resume. Maidana is an entertainer too.
He was sentenced to four year in prison for killing a pregnant woman while driving a car. He paid the bail to get out of prison, the bail was like 40.000 dollars. Just like that...

Good for him he deserves it! Hes on magazines and being cheered while Chavez has become a punchline and disgrace to Chavez name. All is right in boxing for the moment.

yes, maybe because while Castro and Barrios were really popular they fit pretty much in that archetype of poor background boxer that lives life in excess and all that stuff we are used to in Argentina. Martinez has a different charisma, more "suitable for all public".

Good for da Argentine fighta, dis kid is a real class act. I think he is the most complete, entertaining ambassador of da sport and he has da potential to bring da sport to da mainstream. He has dat star quality, dat schwagga.
