Good on him. I have always supported him, not sure this is a good move but its his call. The crap he gets on this forum and others is just plain ridiculous, he always tried his best and gave tons of entertainment during the first phase of his career. His only defeats came against two of the best fighters of the modern era. He made a lot of money for himself and for any promoter he fought for, not to mention the boost to the Las Vegas economy whenever he fought there. I wish him all the luck in the world.

Fans need time to develop an affinity with any fighter, good promotion helps that.

I think there are plenty of fighters around 140-147 that would cause Hatton a lot of problems, possibly even **** him up good. But I really don't think Marcos Maidana is one of them. I know he hits real hard, but Ricky will see that **** coming a mile off, I really don't think those kind of punches will trouble Hatton much.

Hatton vs Maidana would be a war. Who knows how it'd go, he will take a few tune ups first. Surely with his size, he's better suited to 140 rather than 147 though? Can he still make the weight?
The man's pulling power can only be credited, at least he gives his all in the ring, which is more than can be said for some British boxers...
