where in the interview does ward say he wont fight Martinez due to his small size? All he says is that it is not possible for him to come down from 168lb for Martinez.

Is he a small middleweight? How many small middleweights are there exactly? How about Barker who's been fighting there his whole career?
What do yo mean? Barker was bigger when they fought.

Dude you sound like a dumb blond on the register at Old Navy. It aint about who they beat it's the fact they made an attempt to be great! Trinidad lost to Roy Jones and Nard ur point again? Ray Leonard started at 40 took on the baddest m/w of the modern day generation. Again your point? Listen I know u new wave fans knock fighters for taking L's but once upon a time ago all GREAT fighters took a L! Why? They took on the best and not make excuses!

I don't remember the unofficial weights but they looked the same size at the weigh in and in the ring.

Martinez is a small middleweight (look at his frame) - he may weight 175 30 days out, but he does not struggle at all to make the weight and onl hydrates to 165 / 167 come fight night - One of Jr's mistakes was coming in too low and how bad his stomach touching his back looked - 158 was waay too low to come in at (i saw someone said he made weight comfortably) he should of came in at 160 on the head... Andre ward cannot make 160 at all - Andre ward has a very dense build, very dense core - he is not the most muscular, he is not a weight lifter, but has a very dense body - hard to lose that kind of weight - Chavez will not make it in the 168 pd division - he will not have a huge weight advantage, and these cats at 168 have better fundamentals and skill set -

It's clear the boxing world revolves around mr mayweather. He is expected to fight every fighter within 2 weight classes of him. Soon we'll be hearing that mayweather is ducking Andre Ward.

Martinez should stay at 160, forget about the Cotto's and Mayweather's of the world and make his place as the middleweight champion. He no longer has to chase after fights. He is now one of the go to men. He can make lots of history and money by staying put.
exactly what i was explaining to a friend earlier this week, martinez has sc****d and battled his way to the top. taking out game opponents and edging his way outta close fights fighting bigger guys. if you compare the last 3 years he has done more than floyd and pac. ward has made his name as well but martinez is THE man in the sport right now, chavez was so damn big in that fight that he could of KOd sergio at any point in the fight and it had me worried from the first bell but martinez was taking what shots landed and serving up a masterpiece of his own at the same time. no one has takin this kind of risk out of the top ranked fighters recently and sergio is the unified champ and can do what he wants from here on. i would sit back and view all possible options before running out after other big names, sergio has always been to me but is now OFFICIALLY a name in the sport and has his division in his hands

It would be cool to see Sergio test himself that way, but Ward would whoop his ass bad.
