GGG obviously wanted Chavez/Martinez winner, but quite obviously both of them will be sidelined for sometime with their various injuries (and maybe chavez will be suspended?) so he's got to move on. Plus Quillin is fighting, Pirog is still recovering from an injury I believe so not too many guys at 160 out there for GGG. Mackin would be a solid name for him. And likewise, if Macklin wins he's right back in the mix as a top 160 pounder.
    I haven't read it myself.

Golovkin-Geale I'd like to see. I thought that was the next one? I think I remember Geale saying he wanted a homecoming or something?

Macklin's a good fighter and after his performance on Saturday it's a fight that makes sense.

After this fight we'll get a better gauge of how good Golovkin could be.

I'm not sold on him yet.

This is actually a fight I've been wanting to see since Kid Choclate beat Winky and Macklin gave Sergio a very good fight.
Who wins? I have no idea; it's an even, interesting style clash between skilled, highly ranked fighters and that is why I want to see it.

I like both fighters but I picked Macklin.

K2's Tom Loeffler said Martinez, Geale, Pirog aka the divisions elite is who they want to fight next. If none of those are available then a contender like Macklin would be a possible stay busy fight.

K2 called for a purse bid to be set for a Golovkin vs Geale WBA unification since the WBA ruled that Geale had until September 20th to decide whether he will unify with Golovkin or drop the WBA Super Title.

I'm astonished that the polls have it tied at 17 a piece.

            Matthew fuckin' Macklin...

He has improved immensely in America but to me, I need to see some results first. Nice win over Alcine, but doesn't prove much. I don't think he's on Quillin's level and is one big loss away from being shopworn.

Macklin isn't a walk in the park I reckon GGG could make it look like that.
Watch GGG vs Ouma and then tell me how easily he beats Macklin.

              Thank you, come agian.

Are you comparing Macklin to Ouma?

Are you saying Macklin isn't better than the Ouma GGG got hit at will against?

For one, Ouma is a southpaw.

I'd say Ouma was the better boxer and has achieved more than Macklin will ever do. But it's very naive to compare a southpaw light-middleweight to an orthodox middleweight.

I don't know who you think Macklin is but I wouldn't be surprised if Golovkin dealt with him faster than Ouma.
