It's not really a mystery. We just saw with Dawson what can happen when a fighter loses weight. Roy lost his punch resistance because of the move down from heavyweight.

If anything Roy is underrated

I agree. I've only been here since April & I've seen a thousand of these "Is RJJ overrated", "Is RJJ an ATG", "How is RJJ an ATG" threads. Roy may have gotten away with a lot of things inside the ring due to his athleticism, but boxing skills is certainly something he didn't lack & to say he did shows just how much some people really know about him or the sport. A prime RJJ is something you may not ever see again so people please give the man his credit. He might have stayed in the game a little to long, but don't get it twisted. RJJ = HOF, ATG & hell no he's not overrated...IMHO of course.

Gifted. Entertaining. Almost always delivered but still, slightly overrated - Mostly by fans though, most RJJ fans do get a little carried away. His record is a little padded and he is ruining his legacy by continuing to fight.

He'll be a 1st balot HOF'er without a doubt though.
