Smart move by Martinez I hope it happens. With cotto Martinez won't have to worry about cheating, cotto is all business and class. The Chavez vs Martinez rematch can be made later anyway. Chavez should take a little time off after being beaten and schooled.

Martinez likes to control the fight with his jab and footwork. Cotto cuts the ring as good as anyone in the game and has a better jab than Martinez. Martinez dont like it to the body, and his chin aint all that. He's been hurt and or drop in most of his fights since Cintron. Cotto would control the pace and hammer Martinez to the body.

If Cotto's Conditioning is as good as it was vs floyd or close to it, Martinez gets beaten up. Its not like Cotto will win every run and then stop Martinez, but you'll see a early close fight and then mid rounds Martinez face starts looking like that dude from the goonies.

My prediction Cotto TKO9 in a very close fight in points till that moment!

When you say his chin ain't all that, you're using as evidence little flash knockdowns. Saturday night was the most legitimately hurt I've seen Martinez in years. Still survived the round. Being knocked off balance is one thing, but his chin is good. He can take a solid shot.

It'll be a good fight, but Cotto doesn't make easy work of Martinez or vice versa. I think Sergio deserves the edge, but Cotto is a smart fighter. He can give Sergio real problems if he comes in excellent shape.

No way this happens. Cotto knows he can fight Alvarez next May and get a big payday and still a big win, over someone not quite as dangerous as Sergio. I want Cotto-Canelo, mainly because it's a big fight possibly and to see if Canelo really has the goods.

Sergio Martinez would stop Cotto. I really want to see Cotto-Alvarez but I wouldn't complain about Cotto-Martinez. I hope it would be at some sort of 157 CW or something, because I don't know how healthy Martinez can be at 154.

Anyways, the timing is perfect for this fight. Martinez won't be fighting for 8-9 months because of the hand and knee, and Cotto fights in December. Good timing for a May/June showdown.
