What Senior should have said was that his son is 40% of the fighter that he was. Because Junior isn't half the fighter his father was and as much as his fans want to twist it he never will be. And it really has nothing to do with his training methods, it really is a little simpler than that he just isn't that good of a fighter.

LOL! Oh Puga, despite the laziness, cheating, skipped drug tests and walking in at Cruiserweight to face Middleweights you still try to defend Jr.! What more evidence do you need to figure out that he is a fraud and just a name.

Please, the world witnessed when Jr. would try to mimic Martinez and quickly cover up after Martinez would throw 3-4 punches. Or how about in the 11th when Jr. trapped him in the corner, planted and threw but Martinez countered and backed him up! Let's put that in perspective, a 162 lb. man backed up a 185 lb. man from being cornered - sick!

Martinez got confident and decided to trade with Jr. in the 12th and got caught. Had he cruised, sticked to the game plan that 12th round drop never would of happened.

11 rounds of domination with 30 seconds of excitement doesn't warrant a rematch, all it does is bring on excuses.

Julio Sr. is completely oblivious to the fact his son just ISNT THAT GOOD. Bla bla bla all we heard before the fight is how he trained properly for the first time, did it all right, is ready to go, yada yada. Of course the damn kid is lazy - he's a spoiled, pampered son of a legend who knows he beats his opponents b/c he's just too big and strong for all them. Why would he bust his ass in training when he knows he can lean on PED's and diuretics to cut weight and do his work for him? He's had people doing his work for him his life - whether via drugs or promoters or shady judges - he's had everything handed to him so of course his work ethic is garbage.

Everyone hates on Jr. Cause his the son of the legend and because he was brought up just like most protected boxers in the past. The only difference is Jr. didn't have the amateur experience others had and because of this he is criticized but the reality is the kid does have talent whether most accept it or not. Maybe he is lazy and the money and the fame got to his head just like ot did to a lot of other famous boxers but if he learns from this experience and the mistakes of his father, the kid will become a better boxer and person. Unfortunately this is unpredictable and only he can make the necessary changes.

I agree with Sr. about his team not taking charge of the training camp. They are also responsible for his lost by allowing an inexperience young fighter to do things his way. They could have told him how the water flows but they decided to let him take control knowing that he was going into a disaster. They just said screw it were getting paid not matter what happens. I did not like that in the corner, Freddie was telling Ariza to interpret what he was saying to Jr., which he failed to do, which leads me to think that there's still friction between the two. The other thing was his weight. Jr.was lighter than Sergio. He should have never weight under the weight limit 160.you can't change things on a fight of this magnitude and expect things to go smooth. An immediate rematch would be the same but after a tuneup fight Jr. Might have a better chance. Give the kid credit, he did not quit. He fought to the end and ended the fight on his feet. Now Sergio didn't KO Jr. Like he almost swore he would. Schooling, not really. Some running and boxing like we knew he would and we can't blame him. His a smart veteran champion.

JR Better Start Listening To SR; I Felt So Bad For SR Watching Helplessly

Senior needs to put his old school trainers in place for Junior. I'm pretty sure Junior is surrounded by a bunch of "Yes" men in camp. His grin after the fight disgusted me. Junior had nothing to smile about; should have been pretty damn embarrassed for getting a paycheck to not fight for 11 1/2 rounds, and as soon as his dad yelled at him to quit worrying about his feet getting planted to punch, and "just let your punched fly", is when he hurt Sergio with everything he thru. Junior needs to grow up. As it stands, he wouldn't last 6 rounds with Canelo.

Good post. What I was thinking was, lol @ "40%."

Assuming Sr. is telling the truth somewhat, even if Junior was 100% against Martinez, it just wouldn't matter. Well... maybe he wouldn't have gotten his face fractured. But the outcome would've been the same otherwise: wide UD via boxing lesson.

It does if people want to know what would have happened if that fight went longer and they will because the seats will still fill up to see if it is a repeat or reversal. Attendance and money dictate that a rematch is warranted, not you.
