I respect Chavez Sr, but there are no excuses, your son should have train hard, it was a championship fight! Plus he really didn't start throwing and taking chances until the end and I have no clue why, was it Martinez hard punches, that could be it, but still no excuses, and he still almost pulled it off.Last edited by Toltec77; 09-17-2012, 11:44 PM.Comment

Theres nothing JR. Could have done to win it.
Meh Sr is delusional thinking a rematch will go any different. Unfortunately his fans believe the same.

I also think that Chavez DID try to unleash, the times he had Martinez on the ropes. Martinez won the majority of those exchanges, showing that he can fight on the inside.Comment

Like I mentioned before Chavez Jr. doesn't have not one bit of what his father had, Chavez Sr. wouldn't have never let Martinez get off first and or let him fight with his hands down low. Chavez would be coming forward and fighting him inside all night long, never letting Martinez to get off first. Chavez Jr. just doesn't have what it takes to be an elite fighter, lacks on responsability and dedication, trains when he wants, sleeps in, runs in the middle of the night. I wasn't surprised seeing him wilt against a legit opponent, seemed confused and nervous. The Andy Lees are over, it's time to get down to business and get seriouse if he wants to be considered an elite fighter....not now. True colors are out, finally he gets a legit contender and he gets ****** up pretty bad....Personally I wouldn't give him a rematch, I make him wait about 1 or 2 years like he made Martinez wait .Comment

It's not that he didn't want to, it's that he simply couldn't for most of the fight. In the time it takes Jr. to sit and throw, Martinez has hit him 3-4 times.

I think he's too stubborn and ****y to learn from this. If he had opened up early like everyone wanted him to his face would have been opened up.Im waiting for him to earn his first belt.Comment

-He kept circling to keep Jr from throwing.
-He stood in front of him, baiting him to throw so that he could slip and counter.
If a guy can't get his punches off, he's not going to throw. Otherwise, you get knocked out. It wasn't that he was unwilling, it's that Sergio was not allowing him to. He flailed in desperation half-way through the 12th and had he fought the whole fight like that he would have been taken out very quickly.Comment
