From round 1 to 11, Martinez made it a very boring fight.

B level? You being too generous. That dude is D level, C MAYBE. Maybe somewhere in between.
Yeah, he's a D level. The size advantage might bump him up to a functional C or C+, but he's pretty ****ty. All of his advantages can be boiled down to his weight.

I was thinking of putting Ward over Serg but this was impressive too. Wards was more impressive...but Dawson himself left a lot to be desired and quit. Chavez didnt. Took it like a man/boy.

I bet Chavez jr beats last saturdays Dawson. -troll face-

Hmm I always thought Arum was building up Pavlik so that Chavez can move up to 168 and beat him. But does Chavez even beat Pavlik at 168...? Something tells me Pavlik hits harder than him and can match him in size.

Taking his size out of the equation and based purely on his offensive and defensive boxing ability chavez is D level at best.

              Jr. wasn't throwing enough punches.

              Props to Martinez footwork.

It reminded me a bit like Pac-DLH or Pac-Margarito.

Speed kills and Chavez needs to listen to Roach and start timing Martinez if he wants a chance at winning the rematch.

The only thing that fight proved was that Chavez can hurt Martinez. We all knew however that Martinez was faster with better skills and would largely outbox him for most of the rounds.

The fight proved that Sergio is physically and mentally tougher than his style would lead you to believe. The fight proved that Sergio's skill-set is a lot more complete than I thought it was. It proved that even when he's tired and hurt, Sergio can get off the ground and still be a threat. The only thing Chavez proved is that he can absorb punishment, but we already knew that! lol

I agree, martinez completely outclassed Chavez. However i dont think chavez is a bum. I just think he is so obcessed with becoming his dad that he fights with the wrong style.

Sergio put on a masterclass, however he was seriously hurt! All realists knew martinez would outbox chavez, but instead of chavez coming off the fight with no confidence he now probably truly believes he can knock out martinez. Both fighters have stuff to work on for the rematch, martinez needs to either improve his stamina or find a way to throw less and keep chavez off him. Chavez really needs to learn how to throw a effective punch before round 6 lol.
