Jr doesn't need Roach in his corner. Last night Jr said yeah yeah yeah or yada yada yada while Roach was talking. Jr doesn't respect Roach.

He said that to someone outside of the ring. Not to Roach, watch closely next time.

I think Jr should link up with Roberto Garcia. Looking at the fight I can kind of understand why someone like Margarito beat Martinez in the past ( not saying it would happen again as Martinez is an improved fighter). When he has his opponents against the ropes he really breaks them down, has a way of sneaking in uppercuts and what not.

With Chavez, it is like he was trying to load up on his punches too much instead of smothering/swarming him. It reached the point where in the mid/late rounds Martinez started beating him on the inside even when he had his back to the rope- reminded me a bit of Ward and Dawson.

Ultimately I feel that Freddie Roaches fighters have poor inside game along with a poor defense. I don't want to take anything away from Martinez but there was a point in time where he hit him with 3 left hands in a row, Chavez gave him nothing to think about.

Like Freddie Roach fighters he tried relying on his athleticism but unfortunately for him he was up against someone who could go the 12 whilst beating the grease off of him.

Sleep really makes me appreciate that whipping Martinez handed out, but for the knockdown in the 12th round it would have been a stellar performance.

You do realize that Margarito was being trained by the Javier "I didn't know the plaster was there" Capatellio when he beat Martinez. And Margarito has a worse win-loss ratio with Garcia than he did with Capatellio, even though he has less fights than him. I actually think that Garcia hurt Margarito's style a lil bit, because now Margarito tries to set everything up with a long jab instead of cutting the ring off. And plus, I don't tink Freddie Roach should get all of the flac for Chavez losing, if you watched 24/7, Chavez doesn't necessarily have the dedication that his style of fighting would require to be effective at fight night. You need to constantly be in the ring sparring, in order have an effective smothering style. Ask Marvin Hagler.

an out of position Sergio got hit, pushed, cuffed in the back of the neck & hit again vs a crusierwt did Marvelously...what a terrible trainer Roach is in , " what did he do 2 prepar Jr for this elusive, fast handed lefty/righty in sparring & preparatin" ?? I knew but forgot, feeling a bit ******. It doesn't change the fact that I feel he needs to be with a trainer who will develop those areas. If he's not training enough it is on the trainer to get him to or drop him.

Thought it was hilarious how Sergio would lean in and mimic Chavez throwing uppercuts. Chavez pretty much was a punching bag till the 12th when Sergio got careless.

what the hell was chavez thinking in there trying to outbox sergio....had he fought like he did in the 12th from the first bell on , he would've hurt sergio hell of a lot more and way earlier too imo....i 'd love to see a rematch
