War of the minds: Mayweather Vs. Martinez

mayweather ain't the quitting type. i think martinez would be a bridge too far, though. never mind the speed or ring iq, his power is the only thing that matters.Comment

Money takes that. Martinez has decent hand speed but it isn't on mayweather's level for 1. I havent seen martinez fight anyone who even resembles floyds style. Martinez may have more power but power doesn't come into play when u can barely hit your opponent. Floyd wins 9-3.Comment

He got caught with one vs Shane in the second. It happens, a punch gets through.
Anyway Martinez does have a high iq as well. Him and Ward prepare their plan in the gym flawlessly, Floyd does it in the ring, its diff. Only difference is Martinez will go to plan B if he starts being over taken. Plan beast mode, throw a ton of punches and not back down.
Hopkins also prepares outside the ring and is a master at implementing his style and frustration. All diff. All impressive.
The thing that gives Martinez a shot vs Floyd is his overall package. Not only can Martinez keep up, is smart, hits harder, but hes also bigger and he has that missle of a jab. He could probably outwork Floyd. Floyd would have to dig deep and do what he did in the lower classes and engage him. Floyds chin is underrated. His legs arent what they used to be so I'd expect him to stand and trade two-three punch combinations. He wouldnt win a pot shot contest with a guy who can throw up to 1000 punches with power and speed imo. I favor floyd, but I wouldnt bet a dime on him.Comment

Sergio would miss a lot more than he did against Chavez Jr.
Floyd would chin check Sergio at times and catch Sergio more.
Sergio would have his moments while he has Floyd on the ropes, and Floyd would tie him up when he has to. But at center ring Sergio would be hesitating more than landing many solid shots most of which would be to Floyd's mid section.
No telling if it ever happens based on the weight disparity.
Floyd is great, but he would be testing his limits against the likes of Sergio.
I say it could end in a split decision going either way, maybe even a draw if the scrap takes place.
Just keepin' it real.Comment
